It's not their height that people are assuming about... :colone:

That too is a myth. :colone:

Done.

I've always found that you know, many of the South Asian guys I know are extremely tall! I've never understood why some people assume they'll be small.

Yaay :colondollar: Consummate?

Asian's are classed as Caucasian - we're basically the same but browner. We have the exactly same variation as any white person including height and size of *cough*.

Asian, as in South Asian or East Asian?

Yeah it gets me all the time too. As you know, in USA Asian is Oriental, while its not in the UK :s-smilie:
Most I've met have been overly cocky if anything, tbh. You can get insecure people from any race... it's not a race-driven thing...

So, do all the Indian women you socialise with play cricket or football?

Seriously, if by interacting with them in a business context, you mean they are your colleagues, then isn't it perfectly natural to get to know them socially? If you mean clients/ customers, then fair enough (but surely if you're working in Amsterdam, you're going to encounter Western women in other contexts too). Also, you seem to be looking at the whole thing from a rather cold-blooded, Visa-centred perspective, which really isn't the point...

Actually, the majority if Indian women don't really play cricket or football - they're just not very participative. Hence why we rarely tend to socialize with Indian females either - maybe one or two if they get their hands dirty - but since maybe most don't, I think they have their own social groups.

Most South Asian males have a bias towards working in certain sectors within a company -e.g. in financial services they tend to be overrepresented in the technology, trading, IT and quantitative business divisions, whilst many western females tend to be overrepresented in other departments. Hence even though we may all work in the same company our interactions with them are not as common. Of course we know them socially in a professional context, but it's unlikely that we would meet up with them specifically outside a work environment unless we each happened to have a specific hobby we were doing together. Of course I, and other South Asian males interact with Western females in Amsterdam - e.g. in a restaurant, on a tram, in koffehuises etc. but we tend to spend more time around Western males simply because of the greater frequency of common interests.

If we're talking about an actualy proper relationship, then obviously the likelihood of that is slim because often a South Asian expatriate may not be in the same city for the long haul. E.g. - if we're only here for about 2-3 years, then there isn't really much point in a relationship, right? It's not like there is this collective hatred between South Asian males and western femates - just primarily romantic indifference and mutual disinterest. I still have western females as friends of course.

Yes I know, I was being sarcastic about the Indian women.

Fair enough if that's how you feel, but it just seems like such a coldly rational approach to take - if you did genuinely find yourself attracted to a Western female, would you really say to yourself "Oh, there's no point, I'll only be here for 2-3 years."?

Surely it makes more sense to take a coldly rational approach than an unplanned, risky approach?

The chances of being attracted to a western female in a romantic way would be quite slim anyway and work commitments would always come first. Since I might be leaving in say, 3 years time the 'relationship' would simply be terminated so there wouldn't be much point. It makes much more sense to have them as a friend. Couldn't the western female find a western male to go out with, assuming there is a roughly equivalent ratio of males:females in her city/town/region?

Also, with regards to one of your previous posts - isn't it considered inappropriate in western cultures to enter into romantic relations with a colleague?

Why on Earth would you need a work permit, unless you're not from here?

EDIT: have 666 posts. Beware!

Because the last time I checked, South Asian nations are not part of the European Union, and non-EU nationals are required to have a work visa or work permit in order to work in the UK.

particularly the ones on tsr. i swear the threads asking for people to comment on their appearance, over half of them are from asian guys, and there are so many threads created about if white girls like indian/pakastani guys and if white girls like oriental guys. its truly pathetic.

i do agree that white girls are very attractive but 'white looking' or 'Anglicised' asian girls are also very attractive. that is besides the point however.

so why are asian guys so insecure? you notice it more on tsr where people speak more of their mind and display their true feelings but it is apparent as well in real life.

Mabey indian guys but not pakistanis lol

but asians in general have alot of shame and respect.. thats why you dont really get asian nudists and pornstars

If you're going to quote me then at least read the whole of the post. The post specifically says

Bearing in mind that this is a forum, with a large UK population. I merely asked if you're from here or not. If you are from S. Asia, then you clearly do not know the UK any way(This is from a Pakistani btw)
