Tbf, I don't particularly care about the Royal Wedding either. I'm not from up north. I just couldn't give a **** about 2 people who I'll never meet getting married :colonhash:
Why the hell would anyone care about the royal wedding?

Marriage itself is highly overrated let alone between two aristocrats who are not in the slightest bit interesting.

I wonder if the DM has even factored in that considerably more people live in the south than the north.

Given that it's the DM, probably not.

I think you should be ashamed if you do care about the Royal Wedding. Fair play on "the North" for being noteably disinterested.
It's irksome as the bank holiday means I miss an extra English lesson, and it's the exam lesson. I have exams soon.

But no, nobody I know gives a flying **** about the Royal Wedding.

This further confirms my belief that I live in the better half of the country :smug:

Socialist Republicanism ftw! The North (and Wales tbh) kicks ass when it comes to politics. They should succeed like Korea

Does the lack of street parties remark more upon the lack of social cohesion more than apathy on the royal wedding?
No one cares, it's just two rich honkeys getting married.

Frankly I am shocked anyone would want to hold a street party

Hell, I'm looking forward to it and I'm not going to a street party...
South doesn't care either afaik. Possibly some moderate interest in the Buckingham Palace area, but wouldn't bank on it.

Most people dont care, they just dont complain because of the day off!

Then again, any excuse to party ... :colone:

They go on and on about how "It'll be an austere wedding, William and Kate don't want it to appear grand..." That's why there's a £20m+ policing and security bill and all the Royal pomp and ceremony you can shake a stick at, then? Apparently the wedding is supposed to lift the national mood or some such nebulous drivel of that ilk.

It'll be like most other Royal occasions: the BBC and overseas media will love it, the rest of us will be either taking a day off to completely ignore said wedding or just go to work as usual anyway. It's not 1953, folks.
