Zoro: "Absolutely nothing"

Nice, I can see that working well.

Thriller Bark was far from my favourite arc, but the moment Kuma arrived at the end, it improved considerably. Ah, Zoro... The epitome of what a man should be.

it makes me feel quite uncomfortable watching it thinking someone wrote this with the intention of making softcore porn available to a broader audience :teehee:

in some ways its relatively tame compared to some recent series:erm:

Likewise. It wasn't my cup of tea to start with but developed into an enjoyable arc (like all with One Piece). But that scene with Sanji and Zoro against Kuma was really quite something. Even better than the fight against Moria? :P
Also, Zoro has definitely reached another level on my fave characters list. Sanji has always been there as well.
There were times where I wondered whether I'd actually get there, but I have now finished Star Driver. Only had to give my laptop two half hour breaks... if it gave up and died on me now, I wouldn't blame it. :o:

The second half of the series was definitely stronger, and a few later episodes were very enjoyable; however, it was a lot of effort getting that far. I'd say it had more flamboyance and better animation than Code Geass and Gurren Lagann, but none of the really awesome and likable characters that earned those two series places in my 5/5 list. Since the characters were definitely more important in Star Driver than the mech fights, my failure to engage with them is probably the main reason I never truly got into it. I'm giving it 3/5.

I'm now half way through Hanasaku Iroha, which is pretty much the only new series my computer can handle after the Star Driver marathon (and even then I've been forced to take a break at the midway point to prevent it from lagging, hence why I'm posting). It seems... amusing, but at this point I'm not sure whether that's enough to warrant keeping it on. This season certainly isn't short on slice of life/comedy shows, and I'm not picking them all up.

[Edit] Okay, the second half showed there's definitely more to the series than comedy. Still not sure if I'll pick it up, but not a terrible start to the season.

Kimi ni todoke ended lovelylyly  why was half the series a waste :frown:
I've now started Nichijou, which reminds me of GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class in terms of its energy. I'll probably pick this one up.
Just finished re-watching Ouran and initially I was worried as it was one of the first anime I ever watched so I was concerned that, since watching many other amazing anime, it would have dulled. This was most definitely not the case. Every episode still made me laugh, I still thought the script was amazing, the characters and their development extremely well done (apart from Mori, who I still think could have used a little bit more background), and the animation and music/sound brilliant as well.

Very glad to still have it in my 5/5.

After I've finished reading the XXXHOLIC manga, I might pick up the Ouran manga as I know the endings are different at least.

Just a reminder that the poll for the new Anime Society logo closes at about 5:30 tonight.
Just finished watching Gintama 202 (or Gintama' 1)

What is up with your avatar of Onizuka?
Part way through the first episode of Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai... :lolwut: It is trying so hard not to be generic, but I'm guessing that the heavily censored fanservice will be the main focus, so I doubt I'll pick this up.

[Edit] Okay, so they realize their panty shots were unashamedly forced. And they said in the next episode preview that they're going to keep doing it regardless. I like that this series doesn't take itself seriously, so I might give it a chance afterall depending on what the rest of this season's offerings are like.

Yeah, similarly the arc grew on me, but...

Yeah, my impression of Zoro grew substantially from that scene, not that I didn't like him before then. I've never been overly keen on Sanji myself. He's nice enough, don't get me wrong, but probably my least favourite amongst the crew, along with Nami (who I prefer over Sanji) and Usopp (he's growing on me).

I suppose he's difficult to see due to the size. He seems... how can I say? Mangled?

I've always liked Sanji. I found him quite cool and his charm made me take a liking to him from the start of the series. My least favourite is probably Chopper or Brook. Not that Chopper is bad, just that the I find the other straw hat crew members more appealing. And because Brook is the newest member, even though he is entertaining, He's not got the nostalgic factor :P

*gestures towards ontopic thread* :hmmm:

Anyway, I haven't seen it myself, but Welcome to the Space Show was apparently one of the bigger anime movies from last year. Lambda-Delta have subbed it. You probably can't get much newer than that.

Oh this is a new thread

Need to get some more movies for animoo :teeth: Do you know if the new-ish(Feb 2010 iirc) studio ghibli movie is out?
