If I don't go to uni, do I still have as many chances of finding a guy to date?

So is true, you have a vagina, it is much more sought after than a penis. See the post in my sig.

Maybe if I were white then? **** society!

You're right in what you're saying too, but I have to make it clear, a degree does make a difference. It's a qualification recognised worldwide, aside from the debt which you will be only expected to pay after securing your graduate job, when the job is secured, you'll have greater flexibility of moving up the career's ladder and the debt will seem worthwhile.

I'm not arguing with your career plan by the way, what type of job do you see yourself wanting to do in the future?

I don't know. Retail, business, art, writing, beauty, somewhere along one or more of those lines.

Yes you are probably that a degree normally helps. I think I may just be trying to make myself better about not being smart enough to be having the requirements to go to uni :frown:

Please do not listen to people on here. A degree is not the be all and end all, plenty of people do well without degrees. My dad runs his own business selling seafood, with no degree, and my mum's friend runs her own very successful PR company in London - with no qualifications at all, not even GCSEs.

As long as you re being productive with your time - voctional courses, TEFL courses, work experience/volounteering, internships, low jobs with the potential for promotion or training, you'll be fine. You just need to remember that confidence, people skills and common sense are often just as valuable, in some cases more, than a degree.

Academia is not for everyone, but it doesn't mean you're not smart or you can't succeed. I could tell you dozens of stories about people who did not go to uni and live very comfortably.

In that case! I have some good news  A successful pursuit of a career in retail, art, writing do not strictly require higher qualification. You'll be glad to know that retail is one sector which doesn't favour graduates but it'll require alot of effort on your part. Art and writing especially are good to pursue without the need of a degree: if you can write a good selling book, then you're a good author regardless of having a degree! Don't keep your options too open though, sit down and think properly what you want to do now.

Don't worry  we've all been in your situation

No. And sorry I didn't mean that comment rudely. It just that some things people say put me down a little, and it seems sometimes like all the guys go for white girls and hardly for ethnic minorities.

Actually, never mind that, they just don't go for me :frown:

I wouldn't want to date an undergrad student tbh, probably richer pickings elsewhere.

It wasn't rude, it was quite cute. I sympathise and understand your feelings. It's not people's fault, it's the society they've been brought up into that is the culprit. Same can be said about the girls aswell though, some ethnic minority girls go for white guys and that's getting common.

Why not go for you then? :X Something unique about you? Which ethnic minority are you?

Nice to see you care about your future career.

It's probably easier in my opinion.

Why?

Because people at uni devote more time to studying, and a lot of it has to be done alone. People who don't go uni either have a job, are on some sort of training scheme or maybe just unemployed. More free time.
