Desicion maths d1 - january 2011 paper question 4c has a mistake?!

Our teacher gave us a breakdown of which questions we got wrong and which questions we got right and everyone got Q4C wrong.
At first i thought it was just crappy teaching or lack of revision but i attempted the question again (for revision because im re-sitting) and got it wrong again, so checked the mark scheme online.

Heres where i got the mark scheme from;
http://www.mystudytable.com/post13968.html

The MS says;
C]e.g.
D 2 = A 6 = B 1 = K 4 M1
Change status D = 2 A = 6 B = 1 K = 4 A1
A = 6 B = 1 D = 2 J = 3 K = 4 M = 5

notes;

1M1: Path from D to 4 or 1 (or vice versa)
1A1: CAO including change status (stated or shown),but only penalise once per
question, chosen path clear.
2A1: CAO must ft from stated paths, diagram ok. Must have both M’s.

But when i look at the question, A is not connected to 6 at all - not in the bipartite or in the improved matching :/

i just keep on getting a cycle of; D=5-M=2-A=5 AND D=2-A=5-M=2

Sorry for the long winded explanation, any ideas? have i got it wrong??

I'LL THUMBS UP THE FIRST WHO REPIES :biggrin:

Thanks :smile:

It could still be wrong, 100% UMS marks doesn't mean 100% raw mark, she could have just got everything else right and been really lucky to get 100 UMS.
I haven't looked at the question though so I don't know ^^;

I think I remember that question from the exam and thinking it doesn't seem right.

It could always be that she did the question on the paper wrong, but out of pure luck she got the right answer because the question was wrong? Far-fetched I know but it could have happened :P

I need help on this. I've just attempted this and can't figure it out.

What answer have you got for part b and c?

Thanks in advance.

in the question it does say "Anthony now agrees to add task 6 to his possible allocations."

which means that A can do either 2,5,6

All you do is start from your matching found in B and proceed as normal, ie find an alternating path...
