1. Those running/rowing/cycle machines are for girls. Going outside for a run or cycling for real is more demanding.
2. You don't need to have a muscular body in everyday life, unless you are play particular sport(s) at respectable levels. On the other hand improving your fitness is good to live longer and reduce health problems. And you can improve your general fitness for free by going outside.
3. Playing sport for real is more demanding and more fun than lifting up weights
