Durham has to be last - Klute!
I couldn't care less, and without having been to every university/university town people are not really in a position to make the distinction.

The ones that will come top will be big towns and citys and bottom will be random countryside universities, and of course whatever universities people go to will often rank near the top for them as they attempt to persuade themselves it's the truth.

So, top will end up:

*universities in Manchester*
*universities in London*
*universities in Birmingham*
*universities in other large places*
*wherever the poster goes*

He's got a point actually...I've never really felt the student atmosphere there.

Newcastle
Leeds
Nottingham

Aye, u have no idea what its like to be the poor version of an already poor uni, as far as nightlife is concerned - Stockton campus :sigh:

Havent been to Klute though..is it that bad?

This list is spot on. London can be debateable, but otherwise this list is correct.

glasgow ? :frown:
Most of the northern cities are pretty good. London is questionable, it's too big to have a proper student atmosphere in my opinion.

I'm at Liverpool, but have visited friends in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Nottingham, Edinburgh etc. All really good night life.

Those on the south coast aren't bad either, Portsmouth and Southampton for example.

Aberystwyth was diabolical.

Glasgow's pretty far up there, don't worry

Frankly, how many of you have been on nights out in all these places?
Because the average age on this forum is what? 18? 19?

Newcastle and Manchester are brilliant. Chester's good for bars, but it's a poor effort for clubs obviously.
Unfortunately not tried anywhere else yet.

Oh I went to visit my friend at Durham and went to Klute... had "the illegal drink", it was amazing haha!

From my limited experience I'd say:

1. Nottingham
2. Leicester
3. Essex
4. Durham
5. Suffolk

On facebook there's a poll on this which thousands have voted on. Newcastle is winning by a good country mile. The creator of the poll wasn't anything Newcastle related though, just a country wide student group.
