Declining KCL to apply to Warwick through UCAS extra? thoughts?

Hey Guys

So I've recently got offers from KCL for Business Management and Cass for Banking and International Finance

After browsing on the UCAS Site it seems that Warwick has a few courses in Extra, two of which have caught my eye (Accounting & Finance and Management)

Is it worth declining KCL to apply to Warwick for one of these courses? and if so is it possible that I could get Warwick to guarantee me an offer before I decline my offers?

I believe Warwick is slightly higher in terms of rep, however would the 'London Advantage' of King's make up for that?

haha fair enough do you really want to give up your chances at uni for chance at going to Warwick? which may not even accept you! and then what will you be left with? :/

but it is understandable and why you want to go to Warwick, but question is do you want to go to uni this year or is gap year a option?

If you have firmed an offer, you CAN go into ucas extra. You just have to ask the uni to release you

True but officially uni's are not suppose to release you until August.

And it would be a lot of hassle for the OP to go through, he would have to get released from his firm than his insurances, which one of them may refuse :smile:

but anyways OP hasn't made that choices yet :colondollar:

basically you can apply to course and keep hold of your firm choices :smile:

so if Warwick still has places going you will be able to apply and might get offer, and if you get offer than you accept it and then it comes your firm

ahh I see, I never knew about adjustment before, seems reasonable

so basically, come results day, I need to exceed my offer and then I can apply to Warwick (as long as it has places) without taking the unnecessary risk of losing my present offers, cool!

I would say look at the requirements for kings and that for Warwick. Then if possible : Wait for your result. Then go through Adjustment. This may have a lower chance of places but is less riskier. Imagine declining a place at KCL then not getting in at Warwick.

Think wisely

Why Warwick?
Why not KCL?
Any important dfferences?

To be honest, Warwick is head and shoulders superior to King's for any programs related to business or finance. This isn't even a close call.

If you think you can make it into Warwick, go for it. But if you think it's unsafe to withdraw King's, don't take chances. Warwick is very hard to get into.
