University of Leeds Accomodation 2011

haha, i disliked her so freaking much and still like hooked up with her days ago tho she has a bf , we're that messed up. Leeds is pretty awesome though from what i've seen and heard

Yer, Clarence Dock was my initial choice but i've gone off it now, i figured if i'm close enough to town social should be good enough plus it's always down to hall mates really. Charles Morris is awesome but the potential people worry me more than anything else

En-suite first, then social , i'd rather have self catered but also not an issue. But Tannery seems best situated for me so far since JBP's too risky.

What if all this talk that its a risk has actually made people not want to apply after all, so actually its not too over subscribed?

haha yer, can well imagine that happening, with the way the room looks, 1000-1500 in a year really isn't that bad at all. It's a year, long as you're comfortable, make good friends and have ****load of fun,

there's an accomodation representative on here who tells us pretty much everything, 50/50 of getting it. Location and state of the room is the most attractive feature for me really, but nothing getting a second choice is not worth the risk. Henry price is the 2nd most subscribed

Someone who works in the accommodation office at Leeds posted earlier on in the thread which were most oversubscribed last year, and jbp was pretty high up. They also said that jbp was the most popular this year so far.

If you dont get your first choice, what happens? Cant you just put the name of another prefered place in your preference box or something?

aw nooo well i suppose everybody applying for it has an equal chance of getting in.

It wouldnt have been a concern with me, because tp begin with just after i visited it i didnt like it so much, but then thinking about everything id want from an accommodation including the room, cost, sociabl life and location, its now seeming more attractive.

That's true, yeah I just personally don't want to risk being put somewhere other than my first choice if I can help it, haha.

Yeah, I thought it was really ideal but the 50:50 thing put me off same with HP. If you really like it though and prefer it vastly over any of the others then I'd apply anyway. Like you said, everyone's got an equal chance of getting it.

yer it's the fact there's a bus every few mins working till 3 meaning you could get to headingley uni or town really easily, engineering school's just along the road too which is good for me

I really wanna live close to headingley cos the nightlife sounds amazing. I have alot of friends who live up there who say it is really really good.

Yeah. Though i actually like alot of the accommodation. I dont think id be upset really with any of them, maybe only a couple. I just dont want to get it into my head that im off to a certain place, get all excited about it, then find out ive been put somewhere else XD

Im scared of what to put as my priorities, incase it back fires when i dont get my first choice and means i get put somewhere horrible.

If i put location as top priority, i might not get charles morris but Lyddon instead, and so on

The all boys school down my road do IB instead of A levels so my school had to open up and take boys as well in case there are boys who wanted to go to a local grammar school to study a levels. and tell me about it, after being in an all girls school for so long its gonna b a shock, a welcome shock I hasten to add lol , to study with boys again (I would have put a wink face here but I really didn't make my user name obscure enough to feel comfortable with running my mouth on here lol, clearly I did not think that through haha)

I shall definitely be checking out ASOS and Aqua (I've never heard of this one before) to see what kind of dresses they've got going

Yeah I know ive been in an all girls school since I was 11 so it's been 7 years :O so being with boys is going to be sooo weird! Hahaha we don't want to seem to creepy wanting to spend all our time with boys haha:P

I am honestly getting fed up of people going on about charles morris like this. I want charles morris cause it's on campus, catered and basically cause in the photos it looks ****iiing amazing! Yes it's relatively more expensive than the other accomodation, but that doesn't mean it'll be completely full of snobbish RAHs that don't have any fun or socialise at all. Afterall, the more money you have, the harder you can party Of course some people will be like how you're imagining, but you find them everywhere, and i'm pretty sure that the majority of people in the hall will be "sociable party animals". So stop with the bloody stereotyping cause seriously it's pissing me off big time!

I've heard good things, but direct buses there from tannery, can't be anywhere as frequent as JBP, I'll defo be moving down to headingley for 2nd year but apparently majority still go to city centre
