I doubt it. It'll be a huge photo-op so the fayre on offer will be pretty humble, I would have thought.

The fact that our children's happiness has to be tied to another group of human beings who we've put on a pedestal (aka the monarchy) says more about the state of our society in this day and age, rather than about me. I'm not moaning but this isn't the 19th century. I am not filled with awe or respect for the monarchy and they certainly don't make or break my happiness.

agreed - im no fan of Cameron but some people will screama nd shout and rant about him if he said good morning to someone.
I wasnt around for the street parties of the charles/diana wedding but my mom and grandparents were and they said it was fantastic fun.

They don't make or break anyones happiness. I didn't care about the Royal family then, and I don't care now. My criticism of your view was it's yet another layer of whinging about something that is meant to be a positive thing. You don't care about the wedding, we know, so complain about the wedding. Don't moan about the suggestion that people should have a good time simply because you don't agree with the occasion.
This negative attitude sweeping the country is far more destructive than any unwanted cuts.
Also, saying "I'm not moaning but..." doesn't cancel out any subsequent moaning you do...

Mr Cameron writes in the Sun: "Samantha and I will be holding one in Downing Street and bringing together local people and charities.
"It's incredibly simple. All you need to do is to get in touch with your council if you need to close the road. They'll let you know if there are any issues.
"My message to everyone who wants to have a street party is: I'm having one and I want you to go ahead and have one too.
"The truth is that this is a great chance for communities to come together and celebrate.
"So go on - bring out the bunting and let's make this a day to remember. For everyone."

As to France. Ive only place ive been to is Paris.
I dont argue maybe its better for people to live there i never actually stayed there for more than a week.
But i find it more dirtier and public transport etc is more run down than the one in UK or Germany. Also every single time ive been there someone was striking. WTF really? Also you immigrants started to bash **** out of stuff quite often.
But then i lived in UK for quite a while and i quite like it here and been all over germany which i like very much.
But again its only my biased opinion. I dont try to offend anyone. And im pretty sure what if you live in France you have you reasons to think its better.

I didn't specify on "forums" - I said attitude in general. Maybe I'm just weird in that I prioritise happiness over wealth though?
I haven't made any judgements on the royal family at all - be they positive or negative. What are you going on about now? As you are so keen on making a point out of it, I'll specify that I don't particularly like them and think they should have most of their funding/tax breaks taken away. That has zero relevance to the actual act of having a street party though. People enjoy the party - not the thing that sparked it.

well ive been to paris abou 10 times couse you do have a good healthcare and my dad is always in the hospital there. but its not the point. i guess france is not for me couse ...well i just dont really like it there and i do find underground more dirtier than the one in london.....it all looks like district and circle lines here which are ****.

Nah my family is Russian but we are have Austrian citizenship and his insurance covers his french-hospital care. Dont know how it works but yeah basically its being paid for so dont worry.
I dont mean the rubbish on the floor etc. I mean what well apart from **** lines like district , circle and hammersmith the carriages are newer and they upgrade most stations etc....but in paris while being more spacious stations/trains are quite old.
Well they are still in France.
