Were you almost but not quite or - Bit outside the 'popular' group but you still had your normal, stable group of friends or did you fit in one of the generic stereotypes - loner, goth, Rap / ghetto kid, preppy, naive, innocent, geek, Chav, bully, The kid that had everything in his pockets, the rich kid, The kid that lied all the time etc

Wasn't particularly popular. I was too mouthy, too eager to start an argument. Bit of a 'goffick' and as such had plenty of run-ins with charvers. Not bothered like, they're the ones wasting their lives away now
I was also the one that was able to buy alcohol and cigarettes without ID

I was the popular kids' enemy, though. Because I stood up for my friend who got bullied by them.

no i wasn't, i was branded a freak show due to my deafness but being deaf strangely made me untouchable to bullies. Almost everyone refuses to talk to me, blanks me. But i stood out in the crowd with my bonker's dress sense as i refuse to be invisible as my year were trying to make me.
high school sucks, 1st year of sixth form sucks, i'm glad i moved out of blackburn so i can reinvent myself.

I was popular for about three months at the start of year seven (which meant I kicked footballs against the bike shed in the playground), but then I just sort of fell in with the 'normal' crowd. Pretty lucky, because I'd probably have knocked up a girl and be studying bricklaying at the local college if I'd have stuck with them.

There were two popular groups in my school, the "untouchable clones", who all dressed the same, looked the same and who had way too much bitchiness, but who everyone wanted to be, and the other group, who always had fun, partied, and generally didn't give a ****, and members of this group came and went freely. I'm glad to say, I was part of the latter.
I was anything but popular, I was fairly emo/goth though not entirely. People generalised me because I wore black band hoodies and black trousers I must be a goth, excellent logic there.
After about a hundred times "goth boy" doesn't faze you. Nor does "ghost boy" when they notice your skin complexion is pale. Lucky for me since I left that school it seems I've always ended up socialising with the right people, people who don't spend their time thinking of new insults though it could be because I have a few years on most people at my "year". Even people who I would consider to be part of the group that bullied me in high school (through superior numbers rather than strength in most cases, not much you can do to stop 10 chavs swarming you and kicking ice at you while you are on the ground).

i was and still is the most well known person in my high school, but i was never particularly popular; peoples perceptions of me rose and waned. but still, when i go near my school even the year 7's who've never met me know my name.

i'm not sure how to explain, but when i returned to blackburn to visit my parents, they hardly recognized me and they said that i'm a different person for the better...
