When did you take M1?

So, mathematicians, when did/ are you taking M1? AS or A2?
Depends on your exam board.

No, it depends on your school.

Our further mathematicians take it in January of year 1.

Single mathematicians take it in the summer of year 1 (then have the choice of M2, S1 or D1 in the second year).

I took it January A2 year. that way its easier because you're more ''mathematically mature'' -according to my school :P

I did it this Jan (A2 year) but only because I self taught to get it out the way and do M2 because I'm self teaching AS Further Maths. Normally the A2 people do C3, C4 and M1 all in summer, no jan exams.

What exam board? Edexcel?
I did it in Summer of my AS year as we weren't allowed to do any AS exams in January.

A2 Because 99% of our maths group does physics.
S1 in AS.

I took it at A2, did S1 at AS, had the choice which way around I wanted to do it but my school only offered S1 D1 and M1.

You need to broaden your horizons.

For Edexcel, OCR, MEI or AQA, you can take C1 C2 and any one of M1 S1 or D1 for AS Maths.

The only difference with WJEC (Welsh) or CCEA (Northern Irish) is that they don't offer D1 so you have to put either M1 or S1 with C1 and C2.

Which board do you do (and think you are familiar with)?
