AS and A2, how hard is it going to be iyo? Is it possible?

It's possible, but you have to put in the hours. Possible if that's the only subject you're doing.

Very possible if you plan to forgo socialising, eating and sleeping.

Not impossible, but you won't have time for much (if any) practical work, which help considerably with your general understanding. How are you planning to take the practical assessments?

really? Practicals are just about connecting circuits and simple stuff like pendulums etc. though right?

How many hours a day do you reckon I have to put in?

Why the rush ? What board are you doing ?

Every hour of every day.

Are you homeschooling ?

They're not usually too bad for AS, but at A2 they are a lot harder - often they will take an hour and half or maybe longer for A2!

WOW!!

Good Luck...Im doing the AS in one year, as most people do and its by far the most non sensical of all my subjects. Then again Physics defies common sense

but aren't there patterns? I don't think we have practicals per se for cie, we have what's referref to as planning. Won't going through all the past papers be sufficient preparation?

why? Does a level physics have quantum mechanics?

Yes it has some low level quantum work and sub atomic work so it can be conceptually challenging when you first meet the problems.

Sorry, I am not familiar with cie as I do AQA. For AQA, you only submit one practical mark and I have found that it is technique of answering that is important, so past papers really help (also it is really easy to lose silly marks, so be careful-especially when working with graphs). If you nail it first time then you don't have to keep trying to improve your marks, so I would aim to do that.

One practical per year that is

May God guide you all the way.. That's all I can say.

It will be a push, I'm not sure about your boards coursework but my course had 2 practicals and 2 written research style papers, 1 of each in each years. So if you work 10 hours and then maybe put in a bit more time o do write up etc then yep it's possible. The hardest part won't be the bulk of the learning but getting your head round some concepts for the first time like anti-matter reactions and quanta.
It's very possible, grab the textbooks that will help you with your CIE exam board. Study off it, make notes then go through past papers, if you don't understand something post it on TSR or get a tutor (I'd advice you if you want to fully understand the context). Requires a lot of dexterity and will-power.

It's a matter of time-management, it is indeed very possible! A2 will be slightly harder, so put more of your time on that, but the AS shouldn't take more than 1.5 months.

I go through the textbook, make notes and understand it by doing the questions in the book, this all takes me about a week (if it's the only subject), then I just go through past papers!

I'd say its roughly 800 hours of work (both as and a2)

That's roughtly 33 days :P

So if you spend 1/4 of all your time in a day on physics in the next 4 months, you should be ok
