Lol, then you're one step ahead of me: I can't mimic the British accent at all :nope: When I called KCL a couple days ago, that was the first time I had ever spoken directly to someone with a British accent XD

A joint degree will be challenging, but if I don't take German I will be very upset :frown: ich liebe Deutsch! In fact, I'm in the process of registering for a 4-week long intensive German course this summer. I'm hoping it will improve my German so I will be better prepared for studying at Bristol. But no, I'm not German XD

You can already apply for accommodation at Durham? I have to wait until this summer for Bristol :s-smilie: As for tuition: loans, loans, and more loans (my mom won't help me pay for college)! :nosebleed: Studying in England isn't cheap, but I really want to do it!

Since you are studying full time right now, does that mean you are in a gap year? (I thought of taking a gap year but it's impossible to find a full-time job in WY, so I don't think I would be able to save up much...) Oh! And another thing that makes studying harder: when you convert form the dollar to the pound, you lose so much money :bawling:

haha!I can only mimic it a bit but other than that I sound terrible when I speak spontaneously cos I end up laughing by myself lol

haha for a sec I thought you're German. But yea, definitely take German cos it sound so cool  :yep:

Idk if I can already apply for accommodation, I got their application for accommodation though. I have to send it soon and I'm still waiting for them to email me back cos I asked them something. Same here!! I have to pay everything for myself which is going to be a big challenge. I really want to do go there and study and live like I know nobody there even if I do (just a few people :p:) Let me know where you're going to get your loan, I'm still doing my research about which bank to go to. :s-smilie:

No I'm not studying right now, I am working full time. I have bills and stuff to pay so saving is a bit hard but I'm trying.
I agree with you though since pounds is a bit higher than dollars. England isnt cheap but compare to the debt I'll end up when I go to a top notch uni in here, I think I'd rather go to England :yep:
Other forums (but besides this one, what else do you have? lol)

Lol, the British accent has us all crackin' up

German is my favorite subject, and I spend most of my time studying it :s-smilie: (In fact, I've had dreams about me studying German :lolwut:!) So I definitely want to continue at Bristol

You may have to call Durham; I've heard that a lot of unis. won't respond to emails (*points to UCL*) And the only people I know at my uni. are those that I have met on TSR, so I'm in the same boat XD As for loans, I'm applying through Sallie Mae. There loans can be used for schools in the UK, and, if you get a good cosigner, the rates are relatively low. I'm trying to get that done soon so I can file for my Visa (moan XP)

Are you living on your own? Where do you work? And I completely agree: I'd rather go to England and leave w/ a little more debt than if I had gone to a school in the U.S. (Besides, the difference isn't substantial).

4chan.org is much cleaner than 4chan.com ;D It looks like a TSR, but with pictures. What do people do on this site?

The dress up game on DeviantArt was actually really fun! I wish I had as many clothes as the girl so I could dress myself up! Is it okay if I say that as a guy? :ninja:

Ahh, the good-ol' days of Runescape  I never payed for it either, but I probably should have considering how much I used the site!! And I never played Motherload (when I tried it just now, I flew too high, let myself fall, and blew up :s-smilie:)

You post random stuff, reply with random stuff... It takes a while to get into the swing of it.

It's totally okay to say that as a guy  I found a really good Steampunk one a while ago...

Ahahaha, I always did that too. Practice makes perfect and all that~

haha!I know right, fun way to make a conversation funny.
LOL if you've been dreaming of you studying German, then you definitely need to do that course. :yep:
The main Durham email was accurate but this one from the college I'm applying to, they take forever to respond.
I've heard of Sallie Mae before, I actually have that in my list of loans since we can't get financial aid or anything.
We can't file for visa yet though! We have to wait 3 months before we leave or something like that.

Yes, I'm living on my own and paying my own bills. I work in a hospital right now. I'm a bit glad I don't have much friends here though or else I'll end up spending a lot of by going out all the time. :p:

Hey! So have you heard back from the college yet? XD
Sallie Mae was the only organization I could find that would give us a student loan for the UK. Have you found any others? My mother and I finished the application together (she cosigned for me), and the interest rate was estimated to be 9% :s-smilie: That's so high... And we have to wait 3 months before we leave? That's lame! But kinda good at the same time, because we have to have our loans finished by then.

Wow! It's good that you are able to save up! I'm sure you'll be glad you did once you leave

Nope. Have you done any research regarding about the student loans though? I mean there are tonnes of them when I saw it before online. Now I have to look it all up again, lots of people here told me not to go on Sallie Mae, but if I have no choice I'm gonna have to go with it.
I dont even know if my mom will co-sign for me :s-smilie:
How come you have to wait 3 months before you leave? Educate me please :p:

I'm not even able to set up cos I have some bills to pay :s-smilie:

I did a couple google searches, and Sallie Mae was the only one I found that I could use in the UK. Like I said, the interest rate was outrageous, so I am definitely open to getting a loan from a different organization. Which company did the people who told you not to go through Sallie Mae recommend? I'd love to have more options XD

As for the 3 month comment, I was referring to what you had said about the 3 month Visa "We can't file for visa yet though! We have to wait 3 months before we leave or something like that." <-- I didn't know we had to wait :s-smilie: But I suppose it's fine either way because we have to get our loans together :P Lol, yay for debt X)!!

They didn't said anything, they just told me not to go to Sallie Mae, I didn't ask because I didn't know anything yet before but now I should have ask them. Are you going to apply for federal loans on fafsa too?
I'm open to anything too! I'm doing my research at the moment.

Yes, about the student visa we have to wait lol. I know somebody here who got denied but she applied again and she finally got to leave. So the loan is immediately effective once you start the semester or what?

Yikes! That worries me because Sallie Mae was definitely the organization I was planning on getting a loan through O.o And can we still apply for federal loans with the fafsa? I didn't think we could because we are studying outside of the US?

The difficult part is that we have to provide physical proof of our loans as a requirement for our Visa. So it's going to involve a lot of complicated paper work :s-smilie: But yes, our loans will be effective at the beginning of the semester. Keep me posted if you find anything about where to get an international loan
