By the way just to clarify and add to what everyone has said, take 2 original forms of photographic ID and 2 sets of their photocopies. Not 1 photocopy for each ID but 2. I did not quite get that and I had to post another set of photocopies.

I only gave one set of copies and they did not say that I needed to give another set. On my invite letter it only said 'copies' not 2 sets of copies. Confused..

Also my applications on NHS jobs dont have the option to delete - but to remove, I think this is just normal

Yeah, gathering from what everybody else has said the remove option is normal and comes up a month after you have submitted the application automatically (that was relieving).

Thanks! Don't think I can really help you the Scotland recruitment process is totally different to England, it was a half hour interview I had, no assessment centre sorry! I'd say just get your passion across and know a bit about the scheme and the stuff you’re going to be doing but I've no idea how to prepare for assessment centres. Best of luck!

To anyone who's had an interview...I realise you can't answer specific questions about the interview, but I have a couple of inocuous questions to ask :smile:

Firstly - how hot or cold is the building?? I'm trying to decide what to wear so that a) my hands are neither freezing or sweaty, b) I don't go bright red with heat, and c) I don't sit there shivering!! I was planning on wearing a trouser suit but am not sure what top to wear underneath...smart knit, long-sleeved shirt or short-sleeved shirt?

Secondly - will we get time to ask any questions, or is the 'speed dating' process too tight for this? What sort of questions should I ask, if there is time?

I would appreciate any help, thank you! :redface:

If I remember correctly it's fairly warm but that may have been me overheating from panic! I was wearing a linen jacket with a (smart) long sleeved jersey top and didn't notice being too hot or cold (everyone else was wearing proper suit jackets). A knit would probably push you over into too hot.

Don't worry about formulating any smart sounding questions to ask, if there is a question you genuinely need to ask then ask at the most relevant point.

I wore a trouser suit with a short-sleeved shirt on underneath, and I found that was fine temperature-wise. If anything, I was a little warm, certainly not cold (though how much of that was due to nerves is hard to say!).

As for questions - I didn't get time to ask any. I think I'll get away with saying that there's a small 'de-brief' after the interview (I think they mostly just want a little feedback on how you found the whole process) - and this is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have on the general programme structure. So I would say you don't really need to worry about thinking up questions to ask, if you don't naturally have any.

Pretty much same as what mateyface said :tongue:

Congratulations. Hope you enjoy the training. Just got a phone call being turned down for the same job. Can't say I'm surprised given that I only had a day and a half to organise myself for the interview.

Really wish England would hurry up and get back to people. If it's all done on points, then surely the whole process should be really quick!

Yeah, it shouldn't take long, but I think it's the same team that is doing interviews and allocation, so they wouldn't move on to allocation until they are done with interviews - hence the 3 week wait. So once interviews are over this week, I think they should be fairly quick in sending out offer/rejection/waiting list letters! At least that's my understanding :colondollar:

I've done a project with the NHS though and presented it at a few conferences so think thats what helped me.

I woke up last night in a cold sweat. I had dreamt that they asked me 'If you were a duck what type of duck would you be?'. They then criticised me heavily for not relating my answer to audiology?! :colondollar:

Good luck for Wednesday. I met a guy today who interviewed for vascular science and also have a audiology assessment centre on Wednesday. He'll definitely have an advantage on the stations not directly linked to a specialism questions...
