I have an illogical dislike of Brosnan. Do not like.

My friend and I used to have arguments all day long when Daniel Craig was announced the new Bond. He kept saying Brosnan was the perfect Bond (not necessarily the best, but looks-wise and tone of voice). But, I'm like you - something about him I don't like at all. Though, Mrs Doubtfire was awesome

Ok, Doubtfire was alright
I just found him incredibly smarmy as Bond...unless that was the intention but I didn't like it. Craig is much better in that respect, more suave less smarm, hah.

 I know Daniel Craig has a little bit of a love/hate thing among Bond fans but, he's probably my favourite. I love Sean Connery, obviously - if not just for Goldfinger. But his transformation of Bond to a more badass, raw and suave in a more manly way makes him the Bond for me. Loved Casino Royale and even Quantum (though it did have it's faults).

Not really a Bond person but Carig as JB > Brosnan. But i think that's mainly due to the fact that IMO the Craig Bond films are just in a different league to the Brosnan Bond films.

Craig is definitely like marmite and I'm a lover of marmite :teeth:
With you on all you said in that post. :awesome:

They're definitely in a different league. I've never read the Bond books, but I feel like every Brosnan film (minus Goldeneye for it's awesomeness) is slightly too far-fetched and too gadgety. Apologies to the die-hard Bond fans, despite me being a massive technology geek, I find the gadgets slightly annoying and distracting from the plot. Where as I feel Casino Royale is driven completely by the plot and with less gadgets and a ridiculous car, it's so much better and more real (ignoring someone actually having a defibrillator in the car ). Though I'll end it there, no one likes an essay :p:

Every actor is piss poor alongside Brosnans' suave self-assurance.

Your trolling is boring. :sadnod:

Blasphemy.
I agree. **** that series.

Anyway, just watched Days of Heaven. Based on this and Badlands, it does seem like Terrence Malick likes his young male protagonists to be amoral, arrogant, vaguely psychotic schemers who are too incompetent for their schemes to work, and his young female protagonists clueless, naive, and awkwardly attractive. Brilliant films though, and even if they don't sound appealing, they deserve watching just for how gorgeous they are. Seriously, the man is better with his scenery than Kubrick.

I agree, couldn't watch past 40 minutes of it. Really quite banal, I knew what was gonna happen before it happened. I'm surprised it's that high up on IMDB.

Anyone seen Lincoln Lawyer? Thought it was fairly decent for a hollywood production.

yeah, totally awful films- Not. How can you guys not like a bit of Indie : o

Let's just forget The kingdom of the crystal skull exists for a moment, you can say any film's fairly predictable - fair enough not everyone likes every classic franchise but stillll

No jumping to Indiana Jones' defence Christien? :P
I think my position on the matter is abundantly clear.

Indiana Jones has become an endless source of inspiration for many modern action films. And Harrison Ford turned many a straight man gay with that role.

Despite the moderately ridiculous idea of an archaelogist fighting hordes of armies, and a few less-noticed flaws (i.e. Raiders of the Lost Ark - 'Indy' causes the destruction of an entire temple for a golden artefact... yet the ancient booby traps still functioned. Clearly the temple was worth more), they're damned fine action films.

I would let Harrison Ford (circa 1970s-80s) do dreadful things to me :awesome:
