haha no they either called them monsters or extra terrestrials.. but squiddlies is a term I've given them since it seems right.. this might have contributed to their lack of fear factor..

Hey ¬¬ trip was good, all family so you can imagine some of it! :tongue: but yeah my overwhelming thought was I'd love to make some films on those mountains :biggrin: And, erm, no... lol

Yeah I liked Robin Hood, the accent (supposedly the 'most authentic' portrayal of it) was, let's say, interesting (lol) but yeah I liked it...

Planning on watching Network tonight, rather excited. :awesome:

Also interested to see Beatrice Straight's performance in it, as she holds the record for smallest amount of screen time winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. Just five minutes and forty seconds!
^You won't be disappointed, William Holden's monologues in particular are great.

I know, right? It's fantastic. My favourite Hitchcock movie is either North by Northwest or Rear Window. I also have a love for Rope which I think is great.

My opinion of Hitchcock improves with every film of his I watch. His 1950's output alone betters the entire careers of most directors. I actually can't choose a favourite; it's probably between Vertigo, North by Northwest, Rope and Rear Window, but it'll probably change as I watch more of his films.

The very first Hitchock movie I watched was Rear Window and I was thinking it would just be one of those classics that people hyped, but actually turned out to be very disappointing. It wasn't. It surprised me so much that it's one of my favourite films of all time.

The first Hitchcock film I watched was Psycho when I was really young (my Dad forced me to watch his favourites) and I was thinking at the time this is going to be some crappy, pretentious old film.... Wow, was I wrong. Birds, Vertigo, North by Northwest and Psycho are my favourites. I'd probably say Psycho above them all though, just because it was my first :colondollar:

Yeah, Hitchcock seems to be universally loved when compared to someone like Kubrick who is pretty divisive. Especially since there's widely polarising views on 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Admittedly, I'm more of a Dr. Strangelove kind of guy. But 2001 isn't my favourite at all, not even in his top 5 in my opinion. It wasn't enjoyable. I'd much rather watch Clockwork Orange, Shining, Full Metal Jacket or Lolita.

But like you said, it certainly divides a room :p:

Oh yeah, Dr. Strangelove is my favourite Kubrick movie by far. Sellers is just god-like in it.
2001 or Barry Lyndon for me. 'Haters shall hate', as the internet says.

Also, his Paths of Glory is probably one of the best war films ever, along with Cross of Iron, Thin Red Line (which I have now seen, **** yeah Terrence Malick), etc.

My favourite Kubrick film remains A Clockwork Orange, however boring and predictable that may be. Full Metal Jacket is a close second (again, see the last comment). Barry Lyndon is a surprise third for me. Embarrassingly, I haven't seen 2001. :colondollar:

:laugh: I know Daniel Craig has a little bit of a love/hate thing among Bond fans but, he's probably my favourite. I love Sean Connery, obviously - if not just for Goldfinger. But his transformation of Bond to a more badass, raw and suave in a more manly way makes him the Bond for me. Loved Casino Royale and even Quantum (though it did have it's faults).


I prefer Daniel Craig and the new direction the Bond franchise has taken. I, of course, appreciate and love some of the classic Bond films. Don't have a liking for the Brosnan films. It felt more 'Bourne' now, you have to miss some of the gadgets. :biggrin:

I don't want to over amp it up but imho it's easily the best beating the first film by a comfortable margin. Having the best characters from all the other films adds so much to this film, humour being the key ingredient supplied in bucket loads by Tyrese. The action is constant and builds so that momentum is never lost. But as I said, if you do watch it, stay till after the credits...
