how do you stop thinking about a girl?

Probably sounds like a stupid question but how do you stop yourselves thinking about a girl if you know theres no chance of being with them? Im a few years younger than her and now and again she in a jokey takes the piss about me being younger than her so thats how i know theres no chance. Known her a about a year and i used to just think of her as a mate but for the last 2 days its been doing my head in wanting to be with her.

No stupid comments either please i already feel like a tool having to ask this on here anyway thanks.

you're not the only one there, i too am going through the similar situation, only though she is my best friend. can't get her out of my head.

once before it stopped when i started going out with a different girl and moved to a different city that i almost stopped thinking about her until last weekend when we met up again on a camping holiday and all those feelings and thoughts returned like a giant brick wall. i'm back to square one.

One question though, what's stopping you from asking this person out? she may be teasing you about your age but have you considered it could be her way of flirting with you?

Think of all the qualities you don't like about her, that may help even just for a minute but it will gradually increase everytime you think about it.

I'm in this position... well in the girls position. He's 14 and I'm 18 though, so it's about a million times worse. There's no way anything can happen. But I know if he was in your shoes (say if we were 24 and 28) I can say for definite he wouldn't hesitate at all...
