Online Dating - The Preserve of the Desperate or a Viable Way to Meet Someone?

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it evokes feelings of desperation in individuals as they can't meet someone via other more traditional means, or do you think that it's a very viable way for someone to meet that special someone.

It's gradually becoming more and more accepted.

I've got nothing against it, but using the internet to find ALL of your partners is a bit sad in my opinion.
Who cares what other people think about how you met your other half? As long as you're happy, **** the rest of the world.
It hardly matters where you meet your partner...

This is what stops me from using online dating sites. Can you imagine going out with friends and saying "Yeah, we met online." I think it would sound a bit sad to be honest.

lol I'll do my best not to cross paths with you then
I wouldn't say it's desperate. It's good if you're socially retarded or can't be bothered to use traditional methods.

It's very possible.

There was this film I watched years ago that I will never remember the name or story line of. However I just remember this scene and the girl tied the guy to a chair and starting giving him head so he got hard. She then got on top and well .... got on with it shall we say (This wasn't a porno before someone insinuates that. You never really saw anything.) She was one of those stereotypical psycho girls that show up in action films like that girl from Transporter 2.

Yeah I was about 14 at the time and probably shouldn't of watched it but I ended up watching it. Now that scene is burned into my mind.

If you think about it, if a girl can somehow restrain a guy and start stimulating the right area then I think it's gonna be pretty hard for a guy to not get hard enough for sex.

Typing that post is clearly a great way to spend the early hours of sunday. Not very relevant to the thread either. Oh well.

It's not as desperate as putting on your skankiest outfit and going out clubbing to get laid.

That's true. I'm not really looking for that, I'm looking for a long term loving relationship type of thing. One where the two of us will really care about each other and all that.

It does have a stigma, buut that stigma is slowly fading.
You could argue that online dating is better because you're ''meeting'' people
who actually want to be in a relationship. I'm open to the idea of online dating, but since I'm only eighteen I'll wait and see what uni brings. :p:
When I think about it, I can't see anything wrong with it.

But I'm still put off from using it :p:
