Ok, thank you for your advice.

Yes indeed I'm French but I'm not planning on returning in France before at least 10years, and I think that after 10y of work experience, your university doesn't really matter anymore right?

J'avais l'impression que Cranfield était plus élitiste que Cass?
Le fait qu'il y est plus de 400 diplomés de finance de Cass tous les ans me fait un peu peur.
Est-ce que la différence de prix est justifiée (£4,000)?

Is the MSc Finance at Cass more prestigious than the MSc Investment Management?

Thanks

I don't think you can base ur jugement only in one program but you more in a field (finance as a whole). If u wanna choose between MSc Finance and Msc I&M you should look yourself a their programs and compare which fits you better. En ce qui respecte la difference de prix.... Warwick coute 20.000£, et c est une bonne Bus school, mais pour moi sa ne vaut pas le coup..

good luck with your choice!

OP, being honest I have no real idea about the status of Cranfield - I haven't really heard of it before. However, a quick google shows that it ranks highly for postgraduate management and finance studies, and anyone you apply for will know this. If the ranking is based purely on the management school then don't worry about the ranking of the overall university.

My housemate is studying MSc Finance at Cass, and I hadn't heard of this school either until I met her! Again, City University (the uni it is affiliated with) is not well ranked overall, but Cass is very well thought of.

Personally I would choose Cass, as it would give you more opportunity to work within London and possibly gain work experience or attend interviews etc., whereas Cranfield is more isolated (like Warwick). Also, I'm not sure how true this is at ALL so please don't quote me on it, but my housemate attended some of the graduate scheme interviews in January and was told they place importance on where the student is studying - basically they like you have a grounding and knowledge of London if that's where you'll be based. Again, not sure how true this is, but that's what she said (i.e. many of the students there had London term-time or home postcodes).

Oh yes, she's a year ahead of you, has been attending Cass since September :-) She got an offer from LSE as well but turned it down in favour of the MSc Finance course.

Feel free to ask any more, if you think I can help (I have limited knowledge on Finance courses!) x

Why crap?
the fact is that Cass is less selective than the others, by and large, the students their are of a lower caliber, usually they are rejects of the big 5...but it does not mean that Cass is not good in finance, Cass is exlusively well-known for finance and has a good faculty but it has lower selection criteria, they accept students with low grades, so you r gonna date with a girl who makes it with a lot of ppl or with a girl who does not **** with everybody:biggrin:
haha i wasn't saying that EVERYTHING written is crap.. just some  ... still a good site for help thats why im on here too! ...
oh and btw... im not saying the Uni is not good..but WBS also takes people with lower grades! my friend had a pretty low overall grade at his undergrad in India and got only 610 on the GMAT..nothing impressive on his CV at all to be honest.. no work ex or anything..and he still got into WBS MSc Finance but not Cass!! So people shouldn't ONLY judge by the admission criteria

So your friend is an exception but everybody here could testify the fact that Cass accept below average students, it is a fact, we all know that, why are you arguing, between Cass Vs Imperial or LSE, there is no doubt PPL will choose Imperial or LSE...
For example, the person who create this post and who were accepted by cass is a warwick reject :

1)you could be rejected by LSE/Imperial/Warwick but accepted at CASS
2) you could never never be rejected by Cass and accepted by LSE/Imperial and even Warwick

when you are accepted at Warwick/LSE/Imperial it is impossible to be rejected by cass....Cass students are rejects of the big 5
We could contend without doubt that the courses and the professors at Cass are of a higher caliber but the recruitment process does not keep up with their level (normal they have to recruit more than 1200 for 10 finance related masters while Warwick has only 3 finance related masters and has to recruit around 300 persons and it is very challenging to place 1200 ppl from the same school) cause all those high quality professors need to be paid...Cass is ranked 3rd in Europe for his finance department

From my experience (Scandinavia) it is easier to get accepted to Cass. Alot of people in my class (BSc Finance) were rejected by Warwick/Imperial/LSE but all of them were accepted at Cass (not even joking, 1/3 of my class is going to Cass due to being rejected by the other schools).

Some were rejected on the basis that they do not hold a GMAT (which LSE requires, then they applied to either the MSc Insvestment MGMT or Banking and Int'l Finanace and were accepted, both at cass), or they had too crappy grades and/or GMAT score and thus rejected by the big names but was accepted at the MSc Finanace course at cass. One guy in my class holds a weak 2:1 and scored 580 on the GMAT but was recently accepted in to the MSc in Finance at Cass

I was accepted to both Imperial, Warwick and Cass and have already turned down my offer from Cass, not because it's a bad uni, but because of the wide availability and because Warwick/Imperial's rep surpasses that of Cass to some extent.

Everybody is saying Cass student are rejected from top5 but:
1. Oxford and Cambridge MSc FE and Finance requires at least 2 years of work experience, so you can't even apply if you just graduated. This left with: 1-LSE, 2-WBS, 3-ICL

Ok it's the fourth best possible choise right? not that bad?

Think about ppl who go to newcastle/bristol/loughbourough or wathever, they are rejected from top12.... etc...

Me what I want to know is what should I pick between Cranfield and Cass.

Even if Cass has more students, is it still a better choice than Cranfield?

My unique goal is to become new analyst m&a at a top5 investment bank.

Thanks
i rejected warwick MSc Fin
lse MSc Acc Fin

Right now it is:
Imperial MSc finance vs Oxford Mphil (Magdalene) Economics

You can do a Mphil Fin at Cambridge without 2 years but i was rejected. I was also rejected from LSE for MSc fin.

In my opinion as long as

1) you go to a top 5
2) get a merit/distinction
3) already have a first class degree
4) have 2+ months of relevant experience

you will get an interview. Or at least i am hoping for anything that is an entry level position.

If you can get into durham you can get into cass i think. If you have Warwick, it would be insane to turn down for Cass. Unless if you are connected and want to network in London, or have a very good reason. Cass just isn't seem as a top 5.

I'm pretty sure Oxford FE doesn't require work experience. And Cambridge offer MPhil courses for pre-experience students.

But yeh , Cass is about where you say it is. Cranfield is good too so it's really a toss up between the two. Some prefer Cass, some prefer Cranfield.

I'd go for Cass but that's just me. To be honest I don't know all that much about Cranfield though so my opinion doesn't count for much.
Hi, I finally choosed Cass.

Just paid the deposit yesterday.

After having an intership interview and been in the City, I am quite happy with my choice.

Cass is asking me for 65% for my BA. There is like 80% I will get that, but I don't know if I should get a security by also accepting an offer from an other university, which only ask me for a 2:1 or 2:2.

Thank you

Hi!

Does anyone know to study marketing MSc, which to choose?
Strathclyde, Cranfield, Manchester, Lancaser, Leeds, Bath, Cass, and do you have any other suggestions please? For Sept. 2013, should decide soon.

Thank you very much.
