70% of "African Americans" have White ancestry

I found this very surprising.. it's a really interesting read.

Makes me proud to be part-Irish, Irish people are everywhere and Irish genes are in so many people, lol.

I don't think that's accurate. I think in the United States, virtually all African-Americans have white ancestors. I think the figure is the other way around - 30% of "white" Americans have a black ancestor.

I don't find this very surprising. In the days of slavery I bet it wasn't particularly uncommon for slave masters to have sex with their slaves.

Yeah not surprising considering how long they've been there and that your family tree grows exponentially for every generation up you go (2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 ggp, 16 gggp, 32 ggggp etc).

It would have been a generalisation, slaves could have fallen in love with people who treated them well.
