Pre-Application Medicine Applicants 2012 Profiles-Help

Thought it would be a good idea to create a thread where those of us who want to do medicine can discuss where we're up to and give each other suggestions of what to do and "compare notes" as such...
so here goes:

Year of Entry: 2012
GCSEs: 5A*'s 6A's 1 Distinction
AS Subjects: Chemistry Physics Biology Maths
AS Module Grades: Jan 11: C A A B
A2 Prediction/Results: A A A A
Work Experience/Volunteering: 1 week in opthamology in February--planned 1 week in hospital in july, 1 week in a specialist heart and chest hospital and 1 week in gp and possibly EPQ based upon 2-3 weeks work experience over summer.
Extra Curricular:
Worked in a hospice for 3 hours every sunday since march.
On the sixth form executive committee

basically, anyone got any suggestions what i need to/can do to make my profile a bit better.

Hi there, the only thing I would mention would be your lack of a life  I'm sure you must have hobbies. Sport, music, cadets whatever, these are good to have, not only for your application, but to keep you sane as well

Why thanks!
I do have a life....just not a very "hobby" kind of person, more of a reading, swimming, relaxing and going out with mates kind of person....
what about you?

I'm sure you do  I was just saying that there is a place for mentioning those things in your application. You don't need medals and certificates all the time.

Well I don't really know if I should be cluttering up your thread

Pyramid project , is all over UK (hmm maybe just wales) its funded by the NHS (although nothing else to do with them really) . Its an after school club once a week in a primary school for one year group (between year 3 and year 7 usually). The whole class has a screening questionnaire on stuff like friendships , confidence and so on. Then they chose about 10 kids for the club who are maybe low self esteem, shy, or just moved school. Then we go and do an after school club with then - theres 4 'leaders' per after school club. And we basically run it, buy food and stuff decide what we do each week. They give a massive box of craft activities, and we do games and circle time. The after school club runs for 10 weeks by the end all the children are more confident and you have a big party. also one week there is a trip or a visit. again u have to organize that. Its great fun, and i think it shows really good team work, organization....... Also before u can do the club u have a weekend of training about 16 hours. http://www.wales.nhs.uk/sitesplus/864/page/48334
SORRY _ didnt mean to go on for so long

O i helped out a school really randomly , a friend was doing it and i decided to do it with her , really enjoyed it, she left but i decided to stay  I help year 1 and its good fun , ha u have to be so patient when they cant do 7 + 1

No im so not prepared - dont have enough hobby - only serious one is photography and kind of art but that was last year. Im thinking of applying to : Imperial , St George , Bristol and not sure . Where are u thinking of applying ?
Have u booked your UKCAT?

Cambridge is a university that will disregard sub par GCSEs if you perform well in other areas. That, coupled with the fact they interview the majority of candidates, makes it a reasonable choice for those with ability but without A*s.
