I am positively ****ting myself right now. Today or tomorrow! Eeeek!

Has anyone still doing their undergrad degree received an offer and if so, did it include a condition on your degree?

Thanks everyone and I hope you all hear the news fairly soon! Looks like they're on track to hit their "new" deadlines, so fingers crossed for all medical physics people this week!!

Hope we hear today and not tomorrow!!!

I would imagine the conditions would be references and 'other' checks and checking your degree would be part of those other checks - at least that's what happened with my current job in the nhs.

I hope we hear today - quite nervous now. Each time I see an e-mail alert I think "this is it" I am not holding out much hope of getting a place as i don't think the assessment went that well :frown:((

I didn't think mine went well either, best of luck!

As someone else said on here "just hoping I'm the best of a bad bunch"

Though I think my interview (7th) was on the last day of Medical Physics, so not really expecting to hear back today.

Just out of interest, what specialisation and city did they place you in. Or have they not told you yet?

Wouldn't they be dealing with us all at the same time?

I was told in an email that you will hear back in the order you were interviewed. Though that could just mean Clinical Engineering, Medical Physics, etc... In which case I might hear today

Yeah, I heard the same but read it as in order of speciality. I may well be wrong through.

More likely is that we'll all be informed next Monday :-P.
Just heard from medical physics. It's a no unfortunately. Good luck all!

Very sorry to hear that. Hope you manage to find something else you will be happy with. Would you mind telling me when you were interviewed?

Sorry to hear that. Don't forget that you did well to be shortlisted against some tough competition!

Just got my email. Didn't get through .

No idea what to do now. Off to look for something else, though I think I'm done with the NHS - too much waiting around for nothing.

Good luck to everyone else.

Aw Im so sorry to hear that! I know you say you're finished with NHS but if you really want to do medical physics you know you can apply to do grade 5 or 6 jobs with just a physics degree and there is a 6 year route to becoming registered or you could always apply again next year after working in grade 5/6 for a year. Quite a few people do this and its what I was going to do if I didnt get in.

Ahh that's a real shame, I'm sorry to hear that :frown:

I don't know anything about medical physics, but I happened to see this advert as I trawled NHS jobs:

http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/cgi-bin/vacdetails.cgi?selection=912645732

Don't know if that's of any interest? I work in Oxford at the JR so can recommend it as a workplace

Good luck with your next endeavours!!

Well, after my little session of throwing the dummy out of the pram, I'm off to apply for more places at the NHS  Starting to get the idea that I'm not going into Medical Physics directly, so I'm now looking at Engineering and Technologist places. My background if Electronic Engineering after all, so should have a much greater chance of getting in

Again, good luck to all those waiting.

I have just heard as I didn't get a place :frown: i guess it was a long shot. Off to look for other jobs. My interview was 7th April for Medical Physics. The last line makes me laugh asking me to respond with 3 days as to whether I want to continue with the recommendation!!
