Umm yeh, I got an offer from Prospect Point with the start date being 17th Sept… but on UCAS it says my course start date is the 1st… Wtf?

Don't worry about it, freshers week starts on the 19th Sept. UCAS always state the start date as the first of the month

I was going to go with off-campus where all the students where however I thought about it and this is why I have booked private halls (Cambridge Court) which are 5 min away from the uni, I think that I will really struggle and hate having to get the bus (I have had to get a bus to school all my life and I hated it). I get a much nicer modern room with en-suite, 5 min away from campus with a shop, laundrette and pub below which suits me more! It'll be filled with LJM students aswell as UOL and the other unis so hopefully the atmosphere is just as buzzing!

I also got to choose what room, what floor, how many people I wanted to live with (between 3-6) and what building I wanted to be in so I know exactly where I will be next year! You also get the opportunity to view the criteria of people (if they have) that have booked this flat. However I was the first person who booked the flat so this wasn't a problem.

If any of you want to be my flat mate PM me and I'll tell you what one I have booked  I am hoping/looking for some social people to live with so when you book it you can select the same flat as me ahaa!

Hey, are you applying as a first year? Yes, i am hoping to apply as a first yr med student and am going to see them tommorrow(Cambridge court, lennon studios and capital gate, i can't go everyday to l'pool i so i figured i'd look at the ones that i thought i may like all at once). From the website they look hot =)) I'm really excited =DD

I will be first year so yeah I am applying as a first year. You are very lucky to be able to have a look at these accommodation. I live all the way on the other side of the country so I couldn't have a look, but I booked on the basis of a combination of opinions, reputation and location.

If you do like Cambridge Court feel free to PM me cause I can tell you what flat I'm in  As Unite allow you to pick any flat you want and allow you to suggest your flat to friends so you can know before hand who will be living in there. I don't want too many international students :P Not a racist thing nooo way, it's just a lot less social.

Went to see the accom at UNITE, it is hot =)) It's exactly how described. But only downer is that i have to wait till results day because as soon as i sign the contract i am bound to the contract. so if i dont get my results i will still have to pay for the whole year unless somebody fills my place =/ so i am definitely gonna live there though. And plus, i'm doing medicine and its right next to the med school! I was soo impressed =)) and deffo studenty feel to the place =)

It's not, the Medical School is at the hospital end of the campus (Ie the other end of the campus). The Medical Institute (which is next door to Cambridge Court) is a library of some description.

It is a nice hall, and it's only a 10-15 minute walk to the Med School

Ohh okay, see i was a bit confused as to which building i'd be in. So that must mean capital gate is right next to the med school. Yay, that was my fav :-)

Yep, that's correct, some of your lectures will be directly across the road in the Duncan Building (actually part of the hospital) and the rest in the Sherrington Building which is right around the corner

what are peoples views on ground floor rooms in general? Should security be an issue?
Reply 209
I wouldn't like a ground floor room tbh, I like to have my window open pretty much 24/7, even in the winter.

Hi Guys, I got my room offer in for D&R s/c ensuite block R I think. Was wondering anyone whose got an offer for D&R what are your move in dates? Mine was the 18th but now they've changed it to the 17th, was wondering whether they had done this for anyone else? Cheers  x

It depends where you fall alphabetically, A-M is on one day and N-Z is on the other (or something to that extent)
Reply 212
Yes they have done the same to me changed it to the Saturday
Reply 213
Yep, 17th as well!

I'm also Derby and Rathbone s/c en-suite

hey which one do u think is better for first year, Dale Hall or Prospect point? this is for my 3rd choice, my first choices are derby and rathbone catered and self catered

Carnatic halls is amazing! I didn't want to be there at all when I moved in but the social life and eveyhing is great don't let the look put you off. I was readyto leave after my first day but glad I didn't I lord every minute of it and being catered encourages everyone to socialise from day one. I was in McNair n was good!
