I keep making stupid mistakes on C2..

I hope the proof of geometric equation and the whole compound interest stuff doesn't come up! :/

Topics likely to come up...
Cell structure
Stem cells
mitosis
fertilisation
taxonomy
differential gene expression
transpiration and cohesion theory in plants

and maybe a plant tissue culture core practical but not sure about that.

right here goes,
Threee Domains
A scientist named carl woese developed a theory of naming animals according to their ancestors. according to him there are three domains.

Eukarya
Archaea
Bacteria

we belong to the eukaya domain (of course, us being eukaryotes), along with plants and the rest of animals and plants who HAVE a NUCLEUS. Fungi and other weird stuff is also here.

Archaea an bacteria are both prokaryotes. however on a molecular level they have clear differences which caused them to be in two different domains.

Bacteria are of course in the bacteria domain and Archaea you dont need to worry about much yet. This system is to show that even though bacteria and archaea are both prokaryotes, ARCHAEA are more closely related to EUKARYA on a molecular level.

Fivee Kingdoms
Now in this way of taxonomy Carl (yes both are Carls) Linneus developed 5 kingdoms (groups) in which different kinds of organisms go.

Animalia - Multicellular eukaryotes that are heterotrophs.
Plantae - Multicellular eukaryotes that are autotrophs
Fungi - obvious
Prokaryote - Prokaryotic organisms.
Protoctista - a group for organisms that dont fit into other groups. this is sloppy

Hierarchy you need to know
Kingdom Kinky
Phylum People
Class Can
Order Often
Family Find
Genus Good
Species Sex

 good so far

The 5 kingdom system was first developed and still used. We use the Genus and species name in latin to make organism naming easy. For eg.Homo sapiens = Humans.
"australians call a type of bird Flaming Galahs (best said in an australian accent) and americans call it cuckatoos. if Eolophus roseicapillus is used theres no confusion"(CGP)

the three domain system was developed later because Woese found out something carl linneus didnt. You dont need to know about that.

There, then they lived happily ever after...

U ready for friday unit 2?

I don't understand why the proof is so problematic, it's the only thing you don't have to think about in the exam - plus the geometric proof is a lot shorter than the arithmetic proof. Very easy marks...

Because I am lazy to memorise it. Memorisng= Biology

I haven't even looked at it tbh so it's probably ok
