I am from New Jersey and this is exactly what happened with Jersey Shore. And most of the cast was from New York and Connecticut. I think Sammi was the only one actually from New jersey. Good luck to you! Everytime I go away and people hear I am from jersey I have to listen to jokes soooooo many Jersey jokes

As someone from Newcastle I'd like to say it was absolutely awful.
But I'm not going to lie, I was also riveted.

As if I don't get enough stick at uni just from having a Geordie accent though. I'm just waiting for the hilarious jokes to start raining down on me.

Also whichever one kept harping on about "Geordies have to look X, Y and Z" needs to take a look at my facebook newsfeed. A scrawny, pale pathetic lot if I ever saw one.

I think if you treat it like a comedy then it's watchable. However, if it wasn't Newcastle, i doubt i'd watch it - i don't watch TOWIE or anything like that. It's nice to hear/see Newcastle on tv when i'm away from home! Just hoping i don't start getting loads of jip from people at uni!

I didnt watch it last night out of sheer disgust, but found myself watching it today.

All I can say is, dear god, now I see why I got so much banter at uni if this is what everyone thought geordies were like. Admittedly i like my tan, i like my drink and i like to have a good time but I don't wap my baps out (i dont even name them haha!) or behave like a slapper!

Undecided as to whether i will keep watching - i really wish someone could put me in that house to put the cat among the pigeons. I think i'd end up smacking someone.

sophie,holly,charlotte(or chloe whatever) are all slags who are just mad. they r nowhere near decent. i watched it for a laugh lol it is entertaining tho.

I enjoyed it but I got a real sense that everything was staged seeing as it was really similar in content to the first episode of Jersey Shore
