Hi guys, might sound like a silly question but can someone predict what will come up for Conformity and Obedience, Research Methods, Memory and Early Socialisation. (Basically the paper) Because It is my worst subject, no clue about it all and would just like to take a massive risk and study small parts of the course for the final exam and if it doesnt happen then just hope my other exams go well! Thanks!!
This is what I personally think (I might be COMPLETELY wrong )
Memory - Multi store and theories of forgetting Atypical behaviour - Psychoanalytic approach or therapy and definition of atypical behaviour Conformity and obedience - something to do with conformity, so you need to know the factors of conformity and studies (Solomon Asch and Holfing) Research methods - Have no clue, that topic is so simple, won't take you very long to look over it Early socialisation - NO CLUE
You would mention: obedient setting, percieved authority, graduated commitment, potential contractual obligation, the agentic state, and I'm sure I've forgot some. Most of them are in Milgram, so study up on that because there is so much to say
Does anyone have an outline of the Miller (1956) study into capacity of STM?
Didn't he ask participants to recall strings of digits (digit span test, I'm sure it's called) and judged from that how much information we can store? He then devised chunking, but the accuracy of recall can be affected by it... I think.
No problem, that question was in our prelim and I got 19/20 Conformity and Obedience is by far the most interesting part, I'd say. The experiments - Zimbardo, Milgram, Asch and so on - were very surprising.
my lecturer marks the pages and helps write them and says that we should look over: memory:the nature of memory and then talk about it in connection to ltm or stm with a few research examplles..The second question will either be on forgetting or on eye witness testemony... atypical behaviour:two models and connection to either the mental illness you studied or just general mental illness. Prejeduice:either reduction and two ways of reduction or the nature/theories. research methods:we've to keep natural experements in mind. stress:individual differences-2 or enviromental stressors and 2nd question the affects of stress...research etc.
He said we can kill him if he is wrong and as he's so close to the marking etc hope these help...
By the way what is the difference between the nature and thoeries of prejeduice?

Rather happy with the predictions as they're quite close to mine but anyone have any idea what the question could be for early socialisation?? Not even started studying yet.. Thanks

The studies are so interesting, i have to say for conformity and obedience, just can't seem to remember all the dates , btw you know for conformity except for social influences like normative and informational influence and group pressure what else affects conformity, do you have any ideas?

Dates aren't important, its the method, results and evaluation that are important, I have been told multiple times.
As for pressures and influences, that's all you need. Just studies, like normative for Asch and so on.
Just had my last ever psychology lesson at college.
My last one was Wednesday, I think my teacher bricked it a little when she asked if there was anything we were unsure of and I said intelligence. Gave me £5 to go photocopy some stuff haha.

Haha, I never did intelligence. It took me three hours this morning just to learn the two models of memory and evaluation!
Not looking forward to Monday! liking these preditctions though, anyone strongly disagree with any metnioned so far?
I highly doubt a question will come up directly about EWT, it might be forgetting, then I guess you could fit that in somewhere but since it was in last years I doubt it.
