haha! If so we could have glee parties! Except I read somewhere that Sky has won it from E4, so I don't know what we're gonna do next year. and gossip girl (I think you watched GG as well? hope im not mixing you up with someone else)

I'm a bit worried the village might not be that social though :s-smilie: I'm a bit of a hermit since I moved and I'm trying to get out of that habit :colondollar:
Im slowly reading my way through the whole thread, kinda scary/exciting reading it. especially when they find out where they are living next year, that's us in a few months. (if yknow we get the grades) Can't wait until exams are OVER!

I'm so glad the UEA application is straight forward though. My friend is going to Loughborough and their applications open yesterday, and it's first come first served. The website crashed in the morning and by the time it came back in the afternoon all the available rooms had been taken within minutes, so now she's without accommodation until they work something out and she won't know until results day if they have an alternative.

Don't be worried about the village, it's really not 'not social' If anything, it's just the 'type' of social like going out on campus vs hanging out in each other's flats in the village, but of course even then it is about who you're with not where and students are all fun :P. People are constantly in the kitchen or each others flats or rooms so no need to worry.

Btw I also agree with the UEA system, I don't see why other unis don't do similar systems, it's so much fairer. It's also great that even with variations most of UEA's accom is pretty similar ie standard rooms ish and all self-catered. Unlike other unis where I loved some accomodation and hated others, and would have had to gamble, whereas at UEA I loved it all!

Was the village your 1st choice?

Yep it was, I think I had Village, Ziggurats, ensuite campus, studio, orwell wolfson, mary chapman shared campus in that order, though I'd probably change orwell wolfson to the end now.

I was lucky to get it, but I also have a friend who went through clearing so got no choice in the matter, and ended up in Mary Chapman, which wasn't her preference but she loved it, love the savings she made and made great friends, and didn't miss out on socialising at all, so it goes to show it really doesn't make that much difference!

I haven't actually been in them, but since I chose I have seen pics of the bathrooms and it was like (as far as I can make out) a shower room with several showers in cubicles. I get the logic because that means more people can shower at once but I'm pretty picky about my bathroom layout eg I really want to have a toilet in the same room as the shower etc, so that set up would be horrible for me! Whereas the bathrooms in Mary chapman are similar to norfolk/suffolk just older looking/with a bath so I'd prefer that.
I wanna join the "psyched wagon"

but i also need the grades :frown: FaCk!!
I have now applied for accomodation  Though am worried that I might not get the single room in the ziggurat! If I don't get this, and my second and third offer I'll end up in the premier studio flat... Which I don't think I can afford... :/

I'm just hoping I get into my first choice lol...

ooo Thank you. haha it's tough because some people loved the village while others hated it, which makes it harder to decide. Then again you could say that about any accommodation, as they all have their pros/cons.

Man I can't make a decision to save my life. Although I guess the walk to campus would help me as whenever I'm close to something I always think its fine to wake up later and then end up late.

I know what you mean about other unis some of them are so confusing as they'd have catered standard/ensuite non catered standard/ensuites and then like 5 different types within all of them. Plus except for the city one they're all within a short walking distance to all the departments, unlike some unis *ahem Bham*

I'm sorry if this question has been answered but I'm a prospective med student booking accomodation. I'm not sure whether I'm a health undergraduate or a undergraduate and which options I'd fill in?

I think for med students you follow the link for MOD, MO(something)

let me check

Thank you!
That's be a great help as I'm really confused.
When I log in all I get is a first time applicant option which I click and then four options which include undergraduate, health undergraduate and the other 2 being post graduates with nothing else.

It's called just called "ensuite" I think on the form these days. We have "Premium Ensuite" for the ones on campus and "ensuite" for the Village.

You are a health undergraduate student if you are doing a MED course.

Health Undergraduates are Med, Nursing and OHP students.
Woop, i put village as my first choice, my cousin stayed there and he loved it so should be fine :P
