The hardest part of this paper is actually trying to decipher what the question's actually asking of you...! Stupid AQA...grrr

same here. u have to read the question about 5 times before u know what they are asking you then again you are still not sure.
Can someone list all the equations we need to work out maths problems for tomorrows exam..

I know :frown: and its meant to be a minute a mark. Its more like 5 minutes to understand the ****ing data then another 5 to formulate an answer....

SO we probably should skip the question if took us more than 2 mins ! But then again it depends on the question..some question worth the time you spend on

I have been told to do last 2 question at the beginning :rolleyes:

Just redoing the Jan 11 paper that i got an E in january on.... and still not finding it any easier than the first time.
Im going to fail again tomorrow, i know the content i just hate how science works questions urgh. I want to cry!

Hardy Weinburg = q + p = 1 This is used to calculate frequency of alleles in a pop

frequency of genotype = p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1

Mark release recapture = Number in sample 1 x number in sample 2/ number of marked in sample 2

Percentage Increase: final value - intial value/intial x 100
Percentage Decrease: intial value - final value/intial x 100

Rate of change: change/time

Advantages : It's quick.

Disadvantages : Not very specific, can effect other species which you do not want to. You have to reapply it. It's expensive. Pests can become resistant.

Birth rate= Number of births per year/total population in the same year x 1000
Death rate= Number of deaths per year/total population in the same year x 1000
Population growth= (Births+Immigration) - (Deaths+Emigration)
Population percentage growth rate= Population change during period/ population at the start of the period.

Net productivity= gross productivity- respiratory losses
Energy transfer= energy available after/energy available before x100

ermm advantages - they kill pests lol, are specific to one pest
disadvantages: genetic resistance therefore need to be reapplied, not all pests killed, can build up in food chain.. could kill other thingies

im hoping this doesn't come up tomorrow lol

Be careful here. Chemical pesticides aren't very specific as they can have an effect on non target species. Whereas Biological agents are specific.

surely some of the basic ones like % changes you can do from KS2 and rate of change. Also birth rate and death rate is just a calculation using common sense.

Well you're going to get a U if you write like that in the exam :wink:

Just think more positively and revise. Read the questions and data properly and you should be fine.
