i'm stuck in my decision for uni.
sometimes i will decide yes i can do medicine...and other times i feel it will be too hard and the chance of me enjoying it would not be very high.
I am not as interested in the health and disease side of biology. I prefer the biochem side and using science in a different way other that human biology (dont get me wrong though, the idea of saving someones life is amazing)

What do you think i should do.
what other jobs could i go into after a biochemistry/biology degree baring in mind i would like a nice salary as anyone would.....?


Doctors generally administer medicine, they do not develop it, meaning, if you want to save lives it may be more useful to do an undergraduate degree in a purely scientific discipline followed up by research etc. (I use etc. because I don't know what comes after that)

i herd you can do research with a medical-degree

^^ but you're right, the un-sung heroes are the ones developing these cures ect

Yes, it is possible, but I read on here before that, by the time you have finished your medical degree, those who've done science degrees will already be into their PHD, meaning you've probably wasted a few years if your ideal is research.

which course would you advise? not medicine?

because the Oxford dictionary online differs to the hardcopy Oxford dictionary possessed by every gentleman and scholar, which doubtless creates a subclass of language abusers

Probably better posting in another forum where there are undergraduate and postgraduate students who know their stuff, but before you do so you will need a specific idea about the sort of area you want to go into (degree wise), or the sort of research you want to do (which will allow you to select the most suitable degree)

I write therefore I see. I may employ grammar correctly when it is necessitated by the situation; the internet is not one of those situations (did you know the Oxford online dictionary differs in content to the hardcopy possessed by every gentleman and and scholar?).

^^ with a medical degree, you can be a doctor, and USE that research

with a bio-medical, you can do more indepth research, but yeah!

:smile:i am not switching courses lol. medicine is for me.

medicine is not 100% patients

it's 50% learning 50% patient...a balance

If using grammar on the internet is not a necessity why should spelling be? Surely using the online dictionary is better than the hardcopy as it is updated more frequently.
