As the open day gets closer i'm getting Oxford-itis again, don't think it's good....

Also, given i'm about 100 pages out of date in this thread, is anyone else at Hertford on Wednesday? I'm going down tomorrow night, lovely long train journey, and am beginning to be slightly nervous about the whole thing....

And having just seen the brilliantly done spreadsheet, i've decided there are too many people down for English! (Although i'm glad i'm not going for PPE looking at it!) Wouldn't want to be the person who has to scrub names from it in the unlikely event Oxford decide we're all too brilliant to be accepted! (Can you feel my delusion? haha)

I'm working at the Open Day at Hertford as a helper, if you have any questions at all just ask!

Which college will you be visiting?

Also, just found out that the huge German exchange group currently visiting our school (who, incidentally, all recognise me as the mad English girl with a penchant for dresses) are also visiting Oxford on Wednesday. Coincidence much!?

HAHA that made me laugh. Pretty much my entire school are off to the oxbridge open days. Coincidence much? :P

Opps, sorry. My understanding is that although the Philosophy, Psychology and Linguistics has been advertised in the current Undergraduate Prospectus as a possible new course it will not be available for entry in 2012. Discussions about entry in 2013 are continuing. You'd need to talk to the relevant departments directly for more info.

Thank you for the update. Yes, I was told it had yet to be formally agreed upon.

Oh well...

ETA: Last year the 2011 applicant thread reached page 116 in OCTOBER. So we are way ahead. XD

Oh great thanks! That's good to know! No doubt i'll see you in a day or two, and probably bombard you with daft questions...
Oh no! Weather forecast changes yet again!

Hope this works:

Don't you mean the day after tomorrow? Ah well, it needs it's rest. I'm sure we've more than made up for it over the last week!

Merton College Open Day - Typical Programme of Events

10.30 11.00 Arrival, registration and refreshments

11.00 11.30 Talk for prospective Arts & Social Sciences students

Tour of College for prospective Science students

11.30-12.00 Talk for prospective Science students

Tour of College for prospective Arts & Social Sciences students

12.00-12.30 Meetings with Subject Tutors (pupils only)

Q&A session for teachers (with Tutor for Admissions & Schools Liaison Officer)

12.30 -13.00 Lunch for those booked onto the Open Day

13.15-14.00 Mock Interviews (one for Arts/Social Sciences and one for Science)

c.14.15 End of formal programme of events at Merton

And then I don't know what we'll do. We might have a chance to look around Oxford or visit some more colleges. I'm going to let him choose because I've already been there four times
Aaah! What did I miss in this thread? Have we beaten Cambridge already? The last two days in Oxford have been amazing! I looked around soooo many colleges (I can understand the Merton-hype now  ) and it was very nice. I still can't decide though. Any open day news? :woo:

Yes we have! (And since we beat them yesterday we've accumulated about another 8 pages...)

Wait, you're already there??

Yep, we beat Cambridge, and you missed the celebrations, the tennis talk, lots of German and lots of Gaelic.

Which colleges did you visit??? What did you think of each of them???
No!
Yep, I'm already here  I visited so many colleges that it would take ages to write about all of them on this tiny ipod  (it's already taking ages to write this  ( but they're all so great! I particularly fell in love with Magdalen & Corpus Christi though.
Any big open day meetings planned? I scanned through some of the pages & didn't find anything so I hope I didn't miss that!

Between us lot, you mean? No, as loads of us are going to different colleges or going on Thursday instead :frown: Where will you be on Wednesday?

Well I've got the letter and it's a lot more general. Like general admissions etc. It has the Subject tutors part but nothing as specialised like specific tours for the sciences/arts. AND NO MOCK INTERVIEWS! Though now come to think about it, I don't think I could tolerate a mock interview so early on in the process...

Yes, I meant that. ^^;; I'm getting my days of the week confused. I thought it was Tuesday...

And... mock interviews?! Wow! That's crazy... I'm jealous. :colondollar:
