Aha thanks but i was lucky that my mum works in a specialist cancer hospital and had done many doctors/nurses a few favours so she pretty much landed me an interview
That gave me like 15minutes to wow the ward sister , the rest is history

Oh I see... so I'll just blame my failure to get an HCA job on my parents

You seem to have wooed "wow"ed her pretty well then :beard:

Did you enjoy the first week of it? :awesome:

Oh I thought you said "my first day was Monday" :facepalm2: apologies.

The first week is gonna be tough, good luck kiddo... I'm rooting for you :console:

Like the 10th time i've been warned  Starting to wonder what i've let myself in for..
But the fact that i get to wear scrubs will make up for it somehow

It's becoming more and more like this with jobs
But for once i've had some luck with it after like 3 years of looking for any kind of job

I bet most of it is from the jelly people who couldn't get such a job... like myself :colone:

You'll be wearing scrubs? :fan:

Haha okay

Lol precisely my reaction! She said it so casually to me on the phone, "Just come in at 9 in normal clothes but you'll get changed into scrubs anyway"
Was speechless! Now i'm not sure if i heard it or i made it up (she was on a busy ward) but what else could sound like scrubs!

Now i'm just not sure what "normal clothes" mean..

I do work as an HCA :h: and I do enjoy it, it just isn't something I could do for the rest of my life. I have had enough wiping of bodily fluids to last me a lifetime.....

No, I'd say she has stated it pretty obviously. :yep:
Normal clothes would be normal clothes :dontknow:
Just so long as you don't turn up in something unusual :lolwut:

I worked in a stroke/rehab ward so was really interesting  we also got a lot of social problems, i.e. dementia patients who can't be handled at home

Tips hmmm :holmes: well never be afraid to ask for help, or to get your hands dirty  just enjoy it and have fun. I love the job in itself, and it feels like it will give me an amazing stepping stone into first year because I'm so comfortable talking to patients, much more so than on my first day  making small talk while wiping someones bum is now a specialty of mine :colone: but yes, enjoy it :h: you will get a lot out of it if you work hard.

Ah good
Yeah but not sure if i should be leaning towards smart or casual.
If she knew what i "normally" wear (birthday suit) I think she would have chosen her words more wisely

Casual would be normal; smart is smart, not normal. :fyi:

Birthday suits, really? :lolwut:

Sounds pretty interesting but certainly not easy
Hehe hopefully the butt-wiping won't scar me too much (babysitting experience) but i may try to make conversation during it as a tension-breaker..
I think i'm still gonna be happy with whatever I'm asked to do, making a positive difference to someone's life has gotta be better than stacking shelves for the rest of this long year

Ahh I need a job :frown: How do you do it guysss?

And you know when you call up, what do you even say? Anytime I call and say are there any jobs going, or even visit, they just say no. I know they must be lying sometime...or are they?
