Wow, two movies tied for the top spot of the US box office this weekend, right down to the dollar. That's pretty unusual.

Cowboys and Alien took the top spot by nearly $1 million.
Finished my Ocean's Trilogy binge. They were a fine set of films with a great cast and some good cons. Now watching Lord of War.

Just finished watching Serial Mom, forgot how funny/random it is.

PS. Did anyone else get into Pottermore yet? My username is MidnightFeather152. :awesome:

Fixed.

How legit is the second spoiler? Is it just speculation?

Yep, now it's all shaken out you're right. Still, a disappointing start for Cowboys and Aliens.

You liked the second one? It had Julia Roberts playing Julia Roberts badly! Really disappointed in it after the first, to the extent that I never watched the third.

I think it's quite legit. I got it from someone on another forum who works in the movie industry. I can't actually remember what it is he does though.

If you have half an interest in documentaries, you really should watch this - My Life as a Turkey. Every shot is incredible and the story is beyond fascinating.

I love how the BBC remain as the absolute top dog of wildlife documentaries. No one does them better.

Ahh thanks for reminding me! Saw it featured on Radio Times last night but it had already started so will watch on iPlayer this afternoon!

I think it might be the marketing for the film. Posters which show a shadow of Daniel Craig and virtually nothing else, Harrison Ford barely being played up, trailers where the earlier ones were better...not good stuff for a new film.

Liked it but didn't think it was as good as the first. It was definitely a dip in quality in the trilogy. I'm not sure how you felt, but it definitely bit off more deus ex machinas than it could chew. Con films could probably get away with one, provided the seeds are planted on screen at some earlier time, but this had a few things which were referenced in an off-handed way then they turn out to be major con points. I really liked the Night Fox character though.

Third one is worth a watch. It's more a return to form and to Casino cons, and is a much better film that Twelve.

Korean cinema is pretty awesome. Just watched The Man From Nowhere, such a badass film, definitely better than Taken. If you're into revenge films and don't mind ultra-violence then I'd definitely recommend The Man From Nowhere and I Saw the Devil. :yep:
I started reading Writing Movies for Fun and Profit by Robert Garant and Thomas Lennon (a pair of guys whose scripts have made over $1.5bn). It's hilariously cynical, a real eye opener.

I just got back from seeing Arrietty. It was so beautiful.

My friend recommended me it  I shall go to watch it soon
I watched M earlier. On Blu Ray, which was pretty bizarre.
Just was Horrible Bosses... surprisingly good and funny actually! A solid 7.5/10 I think.
Finally saw Predators. Not brilliant, but pretty good. Probably the only sequel to the original that is somewhat worthy of the original. Also, Walton Goggins from Justified is in it and, while underused, is great. 'Die, you space faggot!'

Hello. I have nearly finished Infinite Jest. While I don't know if it's the best thing ever written or anything, it's certainly the best thing I've read in a long time. It has definitely lived up to your hype, which seemed excessive at the time.

I am actually quite interested in seeing Super 8. Probably something I can drag my little brother to.

I'm massively excited about Super 8. One critic has said it's like E.T. for this generation's youngsters. :awesome:
First look at Henry Cavill as Superman in Snyder's Man of Steel:

From the 1st shot of HC as the Man of Steel, I am not dissapointed. Ive been wanting to see a Superman incarnation that was more bada$$ & less boy-scout and with Snyder/Nolan helming the project, I think we are going to get exactly that

Btw, is it me or does he look like he is robbing that bank... (im sure he is not really)

Production meeting, day one:

Nolan: "Now, an important thing to bear in mind at all times is to try and make this relatable for the audience. Yes, we're introducing a fantastical idea, but how would that fit into our world? How would the criminals, the police and the media act? We need to bridge the gap between fantasy and reality. How do you think we could go about doing this?"
Snyder: "With Slow-Mo!"
