I have just as much of a social life as I did before I started the OU. Most people do have friends before university, you know.

Same here. I work full time, see my friends, help run a brownie pack, go to the gym, take part in sociable hobbies etc. Studying with the OU doesn't stop you from seeing people.

lol, you won't have time to see those friends.

after working (full time) theres a ton of material to read and a ton of writing to do

of course to do 120 (double the workloads) credits a year means you have even less of a life - no sleep even

think the OP saw this 'joke' in another thread and was trying to be funny but they have failed miserably.

actually great underachiever has a good point..

when you are work full time and studying..it becomes a challenge to balance this. especially if you want to balance a social life aswell. goes out the window.

I work full time and have been studying 90 points a year with the OU for the last two years. My social life is still totally fine and I have more than enough time to see my friends, go swimming, bake, go out for meals, go to the cinema, sleep, etc. But thanks for the concern ;D

I don't socialise with other OU students other than chatting of FB and having a coffee after tutorials.

BUT, my social life is fine thank you very much.

I work full-time, do one 60 module a year and my social life is exactly the same as it was before I started at the OU.

yeah adding to that alot of the students are on facebook

Well I am just going out to play a bit of badminton tonight, have 3 band practices and still managed to fit in a full time job and also study this week.

I think 120 credits are just fine if you know what you are in for and are organised and determined

I spend a lot of time cooking in general, we never have freezer food or ready meals, pretty much everything I eat is made from scratch. Most weekends I'll make some muffins or cookies and I'll make a couple of different things for birthdays & other special events.

I wish there was a baking OU course. Haha.

I did 90 points a year whilst I did the OU and worked full time in a job that sometimes involved international travel and still had time for socialising.
