urgent astronaut homework help please.

an astronaut floats in a spacecraft which is in a circular orbit around the earth. discuss whether or not the astronaut is weightless in this situation (3)

my guess- weightless
Please, help me I have no idea. :smile:
If this is an open question with no one correct and expected answer, you should start by defining very carefully what you mean by "weight", and say how this manifests itself on the surface of the Earth where we are familiar with it.
You then need to say what would be different for the astronaut taking your definition into account.

What must there be to keep the astronaut in orbit?

So?

Technically he would have weight because he is still under the force of gravitational pull.

Exactly.

If there is a force of gravity acting on him, he still has weight.

w = m*g

N = (kg)*(N/kg)
