Is there a 'club' night at UCL/ULU or similar? I know there are many bars, each with drinks deals, but any where a club night or similar happens which are run by the Uni/unions?

I get mine through Thunderbird alongside my personal account but in a separate inbox. Avoids the clutter and that ****ty web client UCL Live Email uses :h:
Hey, does anyone want a room in Ifor Evans? Its around 150 pounds a week. It cheap and catered and also very sociable I am looking for an ensuite preferably Frances Gardner but if not James Lighthill or any other ensuite. Anyone up for a swap? PM me as soon as possible

How bad is the gower place practice? I've heard some really bad reviews and am thinking of changing GP to the one on museum street.

I've had no bad experiences there :s-smilie: What have you heard? Granted I've only had one short appointment, but the doctor was hands-down the nicest doctor I've ever seen.

there are so many Britons.

Should be doing maths :colone: It's stacked-out with international students. By which I mean that people keep talking to me in Chinese (or presumably Chinese!) and I have to be like '... you what, sorry?' and it's just awkward

As for academic problems, do the people who support international students have any specialist support? I can't imagine you'll be the only person who's ever been in this situation, and they might have some sort of provisions - or at least someone to talk to

The only bad thing about Gower Street Practise is how long it takes to get a damn appointment. Especially the travel clinic.

In Gmail

Gear in top right > Mail Settings> Accounts & Imports > Add POP3 Email > Follow the steps
This wont forward your mail but it will do the same (better) job

You can also send email from your ucl address using the "Send Mail As" Bit on that page, very easy!

It was from the NHS page where compared to the other GPs in the area had the highest rate of negative reviews. Having spoken to a couple of people who have been this term everything seems fine, although the compulsory urine test isn't too appealing

It's not compulsory if you make a fuss  I had a panic attack when they asked me (honestly and legitimately) and they stopped asking after that :colone:
Compulsory urine test? What is this, obligatory STI checking? :/

I wasn't informed of this when I registered :holmes:

I think it's part of a HIV screen. But they can't, like, hold you down and squeeze it out of you, so you don't actually have to if you stand up to them

I thought it was just one of the many ways UCL want to test you for chlamydia.

Um pretty sure you don't use urine to test for HIV :curious:

Someone told me that it was part of a HIV screen, so I'm only going on what I've been told - I am but a maths student with no medical knowledge

This is such a pointless question I can't believe I'm even asking:
So I've been at UCL for 3 weeks. Sadly I can't afford to buy lunch at union cafes every day anymore :frown: So I've started to make packed lunches and as the weather's been amazing just eating in Gordon Square gardens. But when it gets freezing in winter is there anywhere to eat your own food inside? What do other UCL students do? Or does everyone just buy food at the refectory or whatever?
First world problems........
Walking between lectures tbh.

Can't you eat your own food in the cafe? I had lunch in the Print Room Cafe with a friend and some of her coursemates, and one of them was eating a packed lunch in there.

In the union, or in the theatre where those tables are. Or does your department have a common room? E.G. Chandler House (linguistics) has a lot of space to eat (we have a kitchen too)! And Bedford Way has a common room/ cafe where people eat. Not sure about other departments but there must be similar things elsewhere!
