So what subjects do you have for A level?
I quite like neuroscience, it's interesting!
Oooh, yay for shellfish :P

I'm in Scotland. Last year I did Maths, Physics, French, Gaidhlig, English and History. This year I do more Maths, Physics and History, and Biology and Chemistry.

I hate to plug my own blog, but heres a wee thing about the neuroscience of dolphins (being as you mentioned them) -

My cousins live in scotland, I dont really understand the system though :P But it seems cool as you've done loads of subjects!

And ooh I'll check it out

"My religious views:
Roman Catholic by birth; scientific atheist by choice; sinner by merit." ---- Love it
And that dolphin thing is really interesting!
Also, I saw on the side about you wanting to do research into language. Thats something Im interested in at the moment! Like, all the argument for whether theres a genetic code for grammar that humans have and how children pick up grammar without being taught it and all that kind of stuff, and how language evolved. I read a little about it in Genome
My friend learnt both italian and english from birth.

No, just thought I'd post my Eng Lit shelf

The two shelves above are kids' books

I will be very sad when I have to move for uni and leave a lot of my books behind... :emo:

So you can stalk them and sabotage them?

 Just kidding, I wouldn't sabotage the competition.... only kill them

Isn't that my job?

Biomedical Sciences, so I can do Neuroscience. It was a tie-up between that and experimental psychology. I figure I can just carry on teaching myself linguistic analysis, being as no Scottish uni does the subject.

Yeah simultaneous billingualism is ignored by researchers because, like all fields of science, its dominated by Americans and Englishmen, probably the only two countries in the world where having two languages from birth is considered abnormal.

I have stretched ears. They're only small (8mm). Small enough that my school doesn't know and they have a strict uniform policy. However, friends have expressed concern over it. I was just curious for people's opinions on the matter.

Top 5:

The Language Instinct - Steven Pinker
The Extended Phenotype - Richard Dawkins
Mortal Engines - Phillip Reeve [best kids' sci-fi book ever]
Poems to Eimhir - Sorley MacLean [Gaidhlig crap]
Normally I'd put a Gaidhlig book, but for here I'll just say Harry Potter =D
