Yes? What does he like and don't like then?

The only fruit I could EVER get him to eat, bananas, he now refuses to eat. So that's no fruit at all now.

He used to eat beans, now he won't. The other day we all had eggs, beans, bacon, sausages for dinner.
Now, Jason has NEVER liked eggs, so he just had beans, bacon, and sausages. The only thing he ate was the bacon.

If I give him a sandwich he nibbles a bit of the middle and leaves the rest.

If he has a pasta dish, say spag bol or something, he'll pick at the meat and eat it but leave the pasta.

He won't drink anything apart from dilute juice.

Basically he's VERY difficult with bread and pasta, and will only eat the tiniest bit. No fruits, and he'll only eat minimal vegetables if they are hidden in a dish (I can get away with hiding some onions or mushrooms in a dish, or REALLY finely diced carrots, but anything else he'll spit out).

He likes chicken. He could eat chicken till the cows come home. And most meats apart from sausages he can get down.

Yoghurt he likes.

Breakfast cereal he'll have but only if it's dry, and he won't touch porridge.

He'll eat rice, but won't touch potatoes in any form other than chipped.

It's very limiting and it's doing my head in!

I end up having to resort to things like chicken and chips which I don't feel is healthy day in and day out!

Ah no Jason! Do you think it's just a phase?

What are the kids doing for Halloween. I'm hosting a mini-party, think I am mad! Then bridal fayre on Sunday (modelling my dress :s-smilie: ) and huge presentation at uni on Monday, I need to learn to not to say yes to everything!

Hope everyone and the children are well !

Mini party sounds like fun.

Won't be with the family for Halloween this year, however 4 of my closest mates during uni era are flying in on Sunday... it was customary that during those days every Halloween all of us would dress up as vikings, we've not seen each other for around 10 years now.... LOL don't think we would be doing what we used to do while at uni.

Looking forward to the modelling?

PMP: my grandmother used to lecture me on the War and starving children in Africa - that made me eat. I was a very flexible eater when I was little but e.g. in my sister's case my parents would just flat out not give her anything else until she ate for example 3 brussel sprouts. They made it into a game: when she turned 6 she had to eat 6 brussel sprouts, etc. I think she kept up with it till she was 12! My parents were also veeeery good at mindgames: mmm apple with cinnamon, juuuust like candy; cereal, juuuust like crisps (that one wasn't too effective though apparently...).
Hello :wavey: Can I join in?

I fell pregnant in the first year of my A Levels, dropped out and am back again three years later and in the process of applying to uni.

We got married in July and are trying to manage with a three year old, one doing A Levels and the other a dissertation.
welcome minacolada

I'm not sure a 24 month old would understand about the war, or starving children in africa lol

my other two eat pretty well.

PMP: As long as he's eating/drinking something! Bella was fussy at that age but I just tended to leave her to it, sometimes teething has a lot to do with it (it did with Bella/Milly) try not to get too hung up over it, he will eat when he is hungry.

EH: I'm more nervous! It's not really my thing, I'm just doing it because I don't like saying no to things and I thought I would regret not doing it, but I wouldn't regret doing it if it was rubbish, at least I had a go!

For Halloween you should just take something small and viking-ish to mark the occasion! A badge or something, see if they notice

I start my school placement a week on Monday, eek!

The reason he is rejecting a lot of the foods he used to eat or those he never liked eating isn't really anything to do with how it taste but more of due to the texture.

That's what we were told by a dietician at one time when DD was rather picky with all kinds of foods as she was rejecting it mostly due to the texture and all kids will go through that phase where they will find certain textures to be unappealing.

As for how to cope with it... in regard to fruit and vegetables..... try and get him involved in prepping the vegetables for meal times and if you have a large enough garden try and see if you and the kids can cultivate one or two edible plants of somekind and build on it slowly.

You'll be fine  Just blank out the crowd but remember to keep that killer smile

Do feel rather old for Halloween these days tbh.

BTW how's the crockpot doing these days? Done anything good with it yet or has it become a decoration in the kitchen?

I'll try, it's nerve-wracking. A wedding dress is hardly the easiest thing to walk in at the best of times! And My mum is coming to watch, argh.

Oh the slow-cooker? I've been making lots of soups! (Leek and potato today!) and easy stuff, stew, potato hash, stuff that I can just throw in! Nothing exciting unfortunately, I've bought a new recipe book so we'll see.

How did the modelling go?

TBH, I much rather model than to stand in front of a class and teach which I find even more nerve wrecking. Helped a neighbour of mine to do a special segment on banking and understanding personal finances to a bunch of 15 year old kids a few weeks back. I think I will stick to clients

Am thinking of getting a slow-cooker as well... DW is starting to get worried that my life in Switzerland is harming me heh.... since I survive mostly on salads or sandwiches..... not been using the kitchen as I dread to clean up the kitchen....heh might get a slow cooker so could do some easy stuff.

It went really well! The hair and make up girls weren't up to much but it was a lot of fun. I'd rather teach, which is helpful since that what I want to do! Not sure about 15 year olds though, I've been watching 'Educating Essex' and it's kind of both drawn me to secondary as well as scaring me off!

haha bless her! You could just make batches of things and freeze them so there is always food in? Although, saying that if I lived alone and didn't have to cook for the girls I would be the same! Not much fun just cooking for yourself.

Happy Halloween!

thanks we are over the moon family competed :smile:x Little Joseph
Congrats HRH! Ah, a little boy! The same as Tufts! I wonder how different it is?

Exciting! x
Hey all, haven't been on here a while, congrats on all the newly pregnant people and congrats for Tufts and HRH having boys, how exciting!

BP; you looked GORGEOUS at your wedding, how fab is your dress?!?

My news; I've had 2 more losses since I last posted, so 6 miscarriages in total now. We've been seeing specialists for a while now and everything has come back normal so we're very frustrated but still hoping that we'll finally get a child eventually. I feel much more positive than I have in a while, so focusing on positivity

Dita: I just want to share some comforting news with you. My cousin and his Partner had 3 miscarriages and to them it felt like they were never going to have a baby, and then she fell pregnant again, so straight away he took her for a scan and paid for her to go private, they looked after her, and now she's due in a couple of a months and having a boy. Don't give up... They didn't.

She's not long found out whether its a boy/girl but she's still so scared to buy stuff for him, but they're calling him Archie
It's that time of the year again... just a bit more than a month away and it is already Christmas.

Has anyone started their Christmas plans yet? What about Christmas shopping?
