help me out i know no conversions or calculations neither do i know dilutions explain to me this and more or how i can learn more please got a test


8 mL of NaCl solution are added to 40 mL of distilled water and then an
additional 20 mL of NaOH solution are added. By how many times has the
original NaCl solution been diluted?
a) 8.5
b) 8
c) 5.8
d) 0.1

You start with 8ml of solution. You then add 40ml of water and another 20ml of another solution. So you end up with 8ml + 40ml + 20ml = 68ml

So your original solution has been diluted by 68/8 times = 8.5 times.
