Thanks guys, I'll be sure to let you know.
Wow, the last post was the one I made 2 months ago :zomg:

Anyway I didn't get into my firm place and got into my insurance place, like I expected, which was a science foundation year (funnily enough in the same uni) so I think this is my last post in this society, see ya:tongue:
If you're interested in psychology you can still stick around - it's not just for psychology students!
Anybody else starting a psychology degree this month? Feels quite good to finally have a level/GCSE work pay off now:smile:
What could you do with a 3 year degree of psychology? in terms of jobs.

Only a small percentage of psychology graduates go on to become chartered psychologists, specialising in clinical, educational, occupational, forensic, health or sports psychology. It's a fiercely competitive field and, apart from securing a good degree, the main challenge for graduates is acquiring relevant work experience.

However, psychology graduates are well-equipped for numerous roles. The scientific and research elements of their courses make market research, academia and numerate careers such as accountancy realistic goals, according to Margaret Holbrough, a careers adviser at Graduate Prospects.

"With their understanding of people and how they behave in different situations, psychology graduates could viably pursue careers in human resources, careers advice, psychotherapy and counselling, advertising, marketing and retail management," says Holbrough.

Saying that, I don't have a clue about what I want to do with my psych degree... slightly confused :s-smilie:

I don't have a clue what I want to do with mine, either. I go through every job in the entire world in my head, and think of a really good reason why I either couldn't do the job or wouldn't want to.

I have 7 months to properly think about it!

Yeah, Cardiff because it's the closest and it's the best out of my options. The other two are Russel Group which is always a good thing to have, and I'll have two welsh backups I think

I want to do Psychology as a single subject, and probably become a CBT Psychologist/Forensic Psychologist/Police officer

Well it has been a looooong time since anyone has posted in here!

Now that the academic year is over, I was wondering how you all have done and what your plans are for the next one? I have recently graduated, so no more psychology for me (for a bit anyway, now looking in to postgrad).
Starting BSc Psychology in September... I can't wait

Congrats  Where are you off to?
Is it worth becoming a member of the BPS for an undergrad? Just looked at the prices.... £54 per year :/

£54??? I'm pretty sure my undergrad membership was £18-20. I have to say, I now have a massive pile of unopened The Psychologist magazines that have never been read  I also won free years worth of graduate membership, which is annoying seeing as I am not on a course this year. Now I'm going to have another stack magazines  Maybe I should actually get round to reading them!

I'm looking in to everything really... taught Msc (probably either research methods or neuropsych), Msc by research or Phd.
