If you were to recieve offers from everywhere you applied, how would you rank the banks in order of preference?

Hi. Could you please give me some help as to how to tailor your CV and covering letter when applying for a spring week or if there's anything that helped you, could you link it to me? Thanks.

Sorry i don't really want to send me cv. I didn't ever tailor my CV but i did tailor my covering letter. I think if you just type a generic covering letter but change bank name, hr will spot it and reject you. Find a few bits of information which are bank specfic (e.g. what sectors the bank focusses on or is looking to grow into. Or perhaps training programs). But my covering letters were fundamentally similar. However i'm not sure if my cv or covering letters were even good or appropriate, no one ever checked them and i had no guidance except for google. In your covering letter try and convey the message that that specific bank is the only one you have ever or will ever care about.

Congrats

How do they process their applications? I just don't get it.
I applied on Boxing Day, did the online tests and all that day. And have heard nothing from them since..

Sorry i'm not sure. Someone on here wrote that they reject those people who didn't pass the online tests straight away so perhaps your scores were pretty good and they are considering interviewing you? There is only one telephone interview so i guess they have to be selective.
Out of curiosity, did anybody here apply for UBS Horizons rather than Insights?

yea, applied to horizons, still haven't heard back
i completed the CS verbal before the 2 day deadline, but I was travelling back to UK yesterday and was unable to do the numerical, if i do it now, which will be about a day late is it ok?

DB & MS rejection ... waiting on a few more replies.

sorry to hear that :s-smilie: when did you apply to DB and how did they inform you??

Rejected from Morgan Stanley (predictable as I flopped the numerical) but passed HSBC's numerical.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from majority of the firms they've applied to? I did apply really late but I'd still like to hear something...

I've received an email "application received" after I had completed the credit suisse online assessment - does this mean i've passed the tests or is it just a standard mail?

Standard email you get for completing the tests, not an indication for whether you passed it or not.
On my DB application page my timeline is at interview process and I received (after completing the numerical) a mail saying

"You meet the required mark so we will now assess your application. Interviews will be in early February and we will send out invitations to successful candidates in the first week of Feb."

Ehh... Does this mean that I'm a successful candidate or not? Anyone who has received the same mail after completing their numerical?
Hey,
When doing numerical tests if you are unsure of a question, is it better to leave out, to increase your accuracy percentage, hence is accuracy percentage important? for example, just finished credit suisse numerical, I was sure of 17 of the 20, but three of them, I had an idea of the answer but wasn't completely sure, so I left them out, is this better than answering the other ones even though im not sure?
