I'm applying to the London office and Durham uni. I'm still awaiting a date for my initial interview too. I think it's best to notify them of your exam dates, and say that you are available any time but those dates.
Let me know how you get on!
yh I emailed them informing them about my exams and they said they will email me back in feb hopefully with an interview date becasue they didnt have any other dates available (possibly due to staff not being available to interview candidates)... how about you have you been contacted yet? good luck for the process!
It rises progressively each year up to around a maximum of £45,000 in year 6 dependent on location. There may also be bonuses for passing exams 1st time round as well as various other perks. It is a brilliant scheme.
Hey just wondering where you heard about the pay rises? Was trying to find the answer to the question myself but hadn't had any luck

I've had a chat about it with a couple of people from KPMG whose job is to promote the scheme and also spoke to someone who is currently on the course now.
Just wondering what people did their presentations on? Also what questions were asked around them? thanks xx
I did my presentation on the EuroZone Crisis, looking at how it began and focusing on what impact it has on business like KPMG. The questions they ask arn't wern't overly specialised or anythin which makes it quite a lot easier. In my case, they asked me "Why I chose it", "How did I approach my research", "What was my opinion on the UK Veto" and stuff like that.
Thank you thats very helpful! Thinking of doing mine on a smaller topic as something like that has alot to cover, not made up my mind which though, going to be a busy week! xx

Yeah good idea, less they can ask you then. I mean, a possible one to consider might be the growing unemployment rate. Pretty straightforward but also very relevant to current business world. What uni/office have you applied for? X

I've applied to Leeds/Durham. Although seen that at least two other people have had offers from here so getting worried the places have already gone! You? I've decided to do it on Kodak's downfall and the pensions, as I have a interest in photography so can link that in, but thanks for ideas! Was just wondering how did you deliver it, sounds like a silly question really but were you stood up or sat down? Trying to picture what to expect haha!

Ah right, I've applied durham uni too and London office but wouldn't worry too much about offers, as there hasn't been too many given out yet and there still a lot of places available. Yeah that sounds like a good idea! Well, my interviewer said it's up to me whether to deliver it standing up or sitting down but I chose to stand up, just cos I reckon it makes you seem a bit more confident haha. Also, cards with key words on instead of a full speech will proabably seem more professional too so your not just reading. I'm sure you'll do fine

Hi, I was considering to talk about the growing unemployment rate but was not sure how this would link to KPMG. Any ideas on the effect this will have on KPMG?

It will effect the level of aggregate demand as they will be less consumption. Therefore firms will see lower profits and may go bust = less clients.
edit: bring more work for business recovery and turn around. Talk about blacks and peacocks!!! Kpmg are the administrators of both I believe.

Hi, the post above basically covers it all. Generally, reduced unemployment reduces demand for businesses. However, stress the fact that it has both pro's and con's for a business like KPMG. Con's are obvious, Pro's mean more firms are struggling, thus looking to reduce their costs, liquidate assets or help terminate the business, which can increase demand for KPMG. Maybe talk about which service lines in KPMG will be accounting e.g. increasing demand for cost reduction/liquidation would help the advisory service line

Thank you both for your help, I've now chose to do the peacocks topic. I think I've got all the info I need but don't know what to say about how it affects KPMG :/ I know it's probably obvious but I jus need ideas for things to say
