Me.
I think the main conversations I had on camera were with Amieth and Ben.

One of them is pretty damned good. The other seriously needs to start thyroxine. Or a red bull drip

I needed me some of that in MDT today...

Where are you based these next terms?
epidemiology is breaking my soul.
Starting to get an annoying number of spam texts despite being incredibly scrupulous about who I hand my number out to. Any suggestions as to what I can do other than report them to O2? Always from different numbers. I assume it is just mass spamming to randomly generated numbers which I can't really do anything about.

Edit: Oh and in other news - practiced taking histories from real patients today. Was pretty cool.

Your number's not public on your facebook profile or something like that is it? I can't say this is something I have a problem with. I get the occasional spam text from locum agencies, but I gave them my number (unfortunately).

That or you've been signing up to some dodgy porn sites. :p:

Someone i knew got so fed up with being sent junk mail he taped a brick to each of the freepost envelopes and sent them back. Never got sent any junk mail again.

I let some medical students take my history today. Tried to give them feedback but i was completely high on morphine hope they dont actually take the feedback seriously.

I had this problem a while back, but i would only get the odd one every now and then. Letting O2 know is probably the best option. But whether they do anything is another story
Ergh....doing epidemiology coursework, the handbooks we have from uni insist that non-differential bias causes a problem in generalisability in cohort studies, but that differential selection bias is unlikely to be a problem. However the BMJ quide to appraisal of cohort studies says it is very likely to be a big problem. Confused. Any help appreciated!

You give hope to the rest of us. I'm starting to loosen up on that approach and I'm only in year 2.

I missed MedSoc today because I got ****faced drunk and only went to bed at 5. I was supposed to be up at 7.30. The only reason I'm not in Paris right now is that apparently you need your passport to use the eurostar and mines in Wales >.>

That's the figure from SFE, right? Have you added in what the NHS bursary calculator says you can have for maintenance?

Nope admittedly.

For those of you with parents earning reasonably well you must get like NO bursary. Must have to majorly get money off parents?

I'm not in the position to do so from my mum (in fact she needs money off me...) :frown:

I never quite understood the position of the SLC on this.

So, because we have the possibility of access to the NHS bursery they reduce the amount of money available in loans. While this makes sense if every student is receiving the same bursery how the **** can the justify it when it's means tested?

Essentially they're saying that "yeah, you have access to the bursary if your parents quit their jobs which is enough of a reason to warrent us slashing your available loans". What the **** sort of logic is that?
Original post by crazylemon
It is better for the new entrants (freshers this year). They at least get 1k not means tested now.

Current freshers? So they've implimented a policy which will kick in in 3/4 years time instead of applying it to the year about to receive the bursary?

Jesus Christ, what is wrong with the SFC.
