I'm not doing a foundation. I know that its the entry requirement to have one, but I like taking risks its so much more exciting. Out of curiosity why did you prefer Camberwell?

Where else have you applied?
Its definitely risky. Every single tutor I've asked at camberwell have said they don't even consider applicants without a foundation.

A few reasons... I don't meet the grades required for slade, although I think that wouldn't matter too much since I have a foundation. I think I applied based on the reputation mainly, and thinking about it and speaking to tutors who went there I don't get a very good vibe/ doesn't sound like a very nice atmosphere to be in. I'm doing my foundation ay camberwell and I really love it, its really friendly and the head of BA painting is really good. I just think I'd regret not even applying there.

Hahaha, Yeah I know, but as long as I get into one of my choices I can prove people wrong. If not then I have an offer for economics at SOAS. I've Applied to Slade Lancaster Uni and UAL. Been rejected from Oxford (told you I like risks) But to be fair my predicted grades were a lot lower than their requirements. Aiming for the best and falling just short is better than being average. I only applied to UAL because everyone said that it was amazing but I'm not really sure about it because I've never been.

How on earth did you write a PS for both economics and fine art?!
Lol yeah I see lots of risk taking. Which UAL uni? Csm?
Did you not consider applying for foundation or would you rather do economics?

Hahah I managed. I had an interview at Lancaster last week after the first portfolio review, so the PS must have worked  and Yeah CSM. Hmmm maybe, but I dont have long to apply I haven't really decided. I'll just go with the flow  Where else have you applied?

Ah welll done  how did it go?
I reallly recommend you should. You have no idea how much I've changed and learnt and how I compare myself to this time last year I realllly knew nothing!
I've applied to goldsmiths for the joint fine art and art history course, brighton, leeds, wimbledon and now camberwell. Leeds is probably my last choice and its my earliest deadline! :frown:

I've applied to Ba Honours Fashion Design at CSM

I haven't had an acknowledgement so far :frown:

But I have one question, if I sent my application was sent to CSM without the mini portfolio....will I not receive an acknowledgement or any type of reply? Because I under the impression that you had to wait for an email or some sort of instruction before sending off your mini portfolio...I'm confused! Help! :frown:

Hey, i'm applying to BA Fashion menswear, and it clearly states on the website that 'We read and consider all application forms and personal references. If you meet the entry requirements, you may then be invited to submit, as part of an initial selection process, a non-returnable mini-portfolio consisting of 10 x A4 sheets of work (or equivalent size in your country).'

Joelchan is applying to Fine Art, which clearly states 'At the same time that you apply through UCAS you must send in a mini portfolio of your work and an additional 250 word statement about the mini-portfolio, directly to the College.'

Soooo... we fashion applicants are waiting for an email to invite us to send portfolios - the procedure for fine art is clearly different. I was getting worried too when i read joelchan's replies to you until i checked the details for his fine art course.

Nobody i know of that has applied to fashion have heard anything from csm yet. No idea when they're gonna get the ball rolling

It was quite good I think. I think I'd get bored on a foundation, seems really restricting. Are you told what to do and stuff? I dont really know that much.

Are you joking? The whole point of foundation is to be less restrictive.
I've specialised in painting but atm I'm doing quite sculptural things. Its very unrestrictive. Seriously look into it

Atm at school, I just do what I want, I have 12 hours of art, but my work isnt really painting or sculpture. Some people call it paintings and other call it sculpture. Its like borderline. At my interview the interviewer said she thought I might find the first year at Lancaster quite restrictive, but that's also part theory, so i just assumed that a foundation would be even more so.

Is their course BA Fine Art?

No, the reason people do foundations is because its supposed to be a year you explore different things. You do a rotation where you try different things and from that you pick a specialism. I know people that started out wanting to do painting but decided on illustration.

Yeah its W100, and yeah I've heard that but illustration is so different. I'll apply for CMS and Leeds I think for foundations I want somewhere exciting and too not too cosy.
I'm applying to LCC for photography, I applied in December. My friend got an interview (she applied on deadline) for my course this morning, my UCAS track is still blank - do I still have hope?! Argh I'm so nervous!
