I got a miss call from nomura (after listening to the voice mail) while I was in a lecture. It said something along the lines of talking to me about my application to the "explore nomura programme". What could this mean?

They were going to give you an offer. This happened to a friend of mine.

What makes the other firms "better"? And which firms would you consider better? I'm not having a go at you, just interested in how people rank and compare the banks.

In my opinion as far as trading at IB's is concerned

Tier 1: GS, JPM, MS
Tier 2: Barcap
The rest

I would put CS and DB in there aswell tbh, but I agree the banks you have listed primarly dominate trading sectors in equites and FICC.

Seriously?

Come on... that probably wouldn't help you, and if it did, why would anyone do that? No offence but we're all competitors here at the same time as trying to help each other.

It's just not as aggressive as its American chums.

Congrats. For us neurotics who haven't heard yet... When was your AC? Did you get a call or an email? Econ or non-econ SW? I'm ****ting myself at the moment.

Oh congrats! When was your AC?

AC was on 24th Jan (last Tuesday)....I study Econ (not straight) so I guess the earlier one is the Econ SW (had no idea they were running it financial background wise).
