My bad, but I don't think Search being in beta for less than a month back in 1998 has any bearing on a discussion about Google releasing software half-baked.

I didn't mean to imply that it is just Google who does this, however I believe that is naive to think that you can prevent all bugs in software. All major software companies have had bugs.

The reason why Google gets more stick then other companies is because they have tendency to put all there projects into beta and then release that to the public(fair), then as bugs are happening through the public release they don't take any blame because the code is still in beta. This would be fair if the time scale of release was fair.

You would think company like Google would follow a reasonable time scale with releasing products however sometimes it takes years for a product from google to get in the final stages that is if they don't drop it due to no demand.

'Plan B' if you've already lost it and 'Lookout' if you haven't.

Could you snag some screenshots for me? Can't find any examples of it running on a tablet.

Aparently not because every Screen Shot app requires rooting. It's a free app though anyway. Just install it. Your not losing out if you don't like it.

I don't know if everyone with an SGS2 is aware of this, but press the home and power button together and it takes a screenshot.

I don't have a tablet yet though :frown:

Ah, right. Well I just googled Kingsoft Office Tablet and found this.

Spoiler

Thats basically what you'll be getting. It's a bit different from what I see on mine but I think it's an older version of the app.

Well I was trying on the tablet... No home button lol -__- Really wish they'd just make it a stock feature of android. I'd have thought Sony would have put the feature in when they reskinned Honeycombe because I had an update a few months ago for my Xperia Play that added the ability to take screens by holding the power button down.
Chrome is out in beta form on the market for ics devices. Its very nice I must say.

Also, HTC have announced that the Desire S, HD and a couple of others will get ics with sense 3.5 come April. Should be good, though I think I actually prefer aosp now...

I was under the impression that I had to be rooted to take screenshots, how is it done in ICS?
No Flash support ever for Chrome, says Adobe. Porn sites need to go HTML 5 fast, scream geeky public.

Does OneNote for Android have a tablet interface? Is it any good? :creep:

The phone interface scales well, but there's no tablet specific interface.
Going to try out ICS.

Here's hoping the backup isn't corrupt...

Might be too late, but if you titanium backup apps and data to SD, you should be fine even if your nandroid fails.

Did that too.

Got a dual boot now, so I can mess about with ICS, and have GB for actual use.

ICS is sogood :coma:

Yeah, even in a buggy, random rebooting, not very good drivers and camera-less ROM, I prefer it by a million miles to AOSP GB, even more than Sense after a little tinkering...

Would recommend beatiful widgets and android pro widgets if you wanna make it look pretty
