I kicked a hedgehod once. I thought it was a pile of moss and kicked it to see (it was very dark) and it felt kind of heavy. I froze, for about a minute, then after a minute it suddenly came alive and scooted off. You get that sensation when it's you and another animal, you are both scared of each other so you just "freeze" and don't move.

When it comes to kicking animals, it always amazes me that more cats don't suffer abdominal injuries, the way they like to dance around, under, between and near feet.
