Economics Applicant Thread UCAS 2012

Anyone going to the Bristol open day tomorrow?
Or has anyone been to the previous one and know what its like?

I went to a previous one, two Wednesdays ago.

It's decent, I felt like it was a great way to socialise with those who you'll possibly be on the course with. Got a chance to look around the halls of residence (Clifton Hill House) and speak to current economics students.

The professor that gave the lecture about Bristol etc. was quite funny as well.

Anyone going to the Bristol open day tomorrow?
Or has anyone been to the previous one and know what its like?

I know that LSE should give me answer very shortly, simply because their last open day is beginning April and they're bound to let me know within the next 2 weeks....
But what about Warwick? I've been waiting for 5 and a half months now and had pretty decent grades - got rejections from UCL, Oxford and Durham though :/
I'm so desperate to find out!! -.-

No probs haha all courses were/are straight Econ. I had 8A*AB and I was predicted all A*.
I think it was my personal statement to be honest....not that it's terrible or anything, simply that it didn't shine enough to impress them if you follow me

For those still waiting for LSE, are you gonna send them your results (provided they are good)? What would you call good results btw, I mean if your results are all below 90 but in the high 80's would you send them. If all your results are stunning but one is low, what would you do ? I can't not tell them my results for a particular exam as then they would have reason to believe I did poorly in it.
Also, when they said:

"Should any details regarding your academic studies change in any way, you should
inform the Undergraduate Admissions Office immediately. For example, if you
decide to change the A level (or equivalent) subjects you stated on your UCAS
form, we need to take this new information into account. Similarly, you should
also contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office if there are any extenuating
circumstances which have an impact on your course of study, e.g. illness, family
circumstances or disruption to the delivery of your course at school.

Please do not send us supplementary references, statements, essays, DVDs or
other supporting material as these will not be considered."

Do you think that exam results would be considered as "details regarding our academic studies" (so we should send them) or as "supporting material" (so we shouldn't send them) ?

I don't think so. They clearly say that you should contact them if you change your A Levels or take different modules than stated or if you have extenuating circumstances. They certainly don't ask for your January results. If they did, they would have made it clear I suppose. Of course it wouldn't harm your application if you did though. But whether it actually increases your chances is questionable.

Do you think it would be wise to contact universities if you're planning to retake any modules, following today's results?

Got a offer open day email from UCL, L100 Economics

Definitely not, when it comes to re-sits you should hide it from uni's as much as possible without obviously lying.

So can we do a quick survey here:
1.Who is going to email their UMS to LSE ?
2. Would you have emailed them if your results were all 95%+ ?
