anyone tell me what uni life is like for you as a Muslim? Because for everyone else uni life is about clubbing and getting wasted so i was wondering how muslims find uni in terms of fitting in and stuff. Thanks.
It's great. There are loads of other things you can do apart from drinking and clubbing. Sports societies are great- so find something that interests you and join! There are also theatre trips, dinners out and learning new languages. Also, if you join ISOC they usually do a bunch of stuff-so its not all doom and gloom, you still get to socialise!

Well.........it's just uni life...uni work, social activities, etc without the clubbing and alcohol for me.
Las time I checked, there are loads of nightclubs in Muslim-majority countries like Egypt and Paqistan.
Of course the actions of a country with a lot of Muslims means them actions are automatically 'Islamic'
OP, there is lots you can do! Clubbing and alcohol seems to be the impression most get of being the main part of uni life and for a lot it is a huge part but even those people who drink and go clubbing do other things too. There are loads of societies to join and also the isoc if you want to - they don't just sit in circles and discuss death or anything, they do have socials (within reason obviously) and outings etc.
My uni has a mountain climbing society some other universities have some pretty cool ones too.. Just don't go to the drinking socials as that seems to be what you're worried about. You may even meet people on your course with a similar mind-set and often will do things with them. Hope it goes well!

No, Muslims are not allowed to go nightclubs... but doesn't mean Muslims don't go. At the end of the day, you are always going to get people who call themselves Muslims but do things the Islam discourages. Fact of life. Its the same with all religions, its rare to get religious folks
If you're worried about "fitting in" joining the Islamic society probably isn't the best move.
negged for the truth, In all honesty when I hear "Islamic society" I think of abdul farouk abdulmutallab and men with beards shouting Allahu Akbar by all means join if you like being ignored.
