Because the Daily Mail told them to. The end.

What? The DM is more of a UKIP paper tbf. It would be the Guardian who'd be more likely to lean to Labour, though it seems like they'd now be the paper that is more likely to lean to the Lib Dems and/or the greens

I change my political allegiance all the time. They all end up screwing every thing up eventually

ah, I will never tire of mass generalisations. I am on no politic side (in my opinion, they're all as bad as each other) but the fact that people are trying to have an intellectual discussion based on the assumptions:

1) All Labour voters are on the dole/selfish/naive/yadda yadda yadda

and

2) All Conservative voters are posh *****

demonstrates enough about Britain today. Since when did we wish everyone to have the same opinion on everything?
Because everyone votes for the opposition all the time as long as they're not total morons (like the Tories were under Hague, Duncan Smith and Howard when they were even less popular than Labour were, and that was saying something!). It's just the way things work. It's not because Labour are actually any good (as far as I'm aware, they still don't really have any policies and the ones they do are just the Tories' policies with more of a 'human face' added), it's just because they're not in government right now and therefore not screwing up right now.

The Labour Party stand for exactly the opposite of what you have just said. Shows what you really know about political parties

Since when?

-The tried to make out having two parents wasn't important
-They try to screw people over with tax
-They opened the floodgates to immigrants to increase the left vote
-They overtaxed the country and what is there to show for it?
-They punished achievement from the young age in primary school and guess what, now people aren't encouraged to try.
-They doubled council tax
-They introduced 50o tax
-They made welfare a lifestyle choice

Not all Labour voters are on the dole, but there's more stereotypical labour voters than tory ones (because there arent that many 'posh' people!)

Labour supporters are either:

-Naive teenagers who think communism is "cool"
-Old pensioners who didnt bother saving money for the previous 50 years
-Naive coal miners who thought digging a hole in the ground was a job for life
-Selfish persons who want other peoples money
-Morons who think people have a devine right to have a funded family if they cant afford it.

What an awful argument. Yes Labour oversaw and to an extent contributed to the financial problems in the UK but you talk as if the Conservative party are the stalwart defenders of the common working family's lives. Of course you would say that having never experienced the crushing effects of Margaret Thatcher's three terms in office as millions of families in the North and other parts of the UK did, but I assure you, you ignoramus, that history shows the Conservatives are no more trustworthy with the welfare of ordinary citizens than Labour are - indeed, I would argue less so.

You seem to confuse "common" and "ordinary" with "normal".........

Do you think working class people don't work hard?

Only when they're older as they HAVE to because when younger at school they CHOSE not to......

and I'd rather that than an evil government who wishes to punish the unfortunate and needy.

People like you REALLY piss me off.

Can you please explain to me how a pensioner who spent spent spent for 50 years and has no savings now is unfortunate?

How is a teenage mum unfortunate?

How is somebody who messed about at school, got no GCSEs and now has no employment prospects unfortunate?

Put your family through? And this would not have occurred under a Tory government? I vote Labour because the Tories a simply a bunch of thieving, cowardly billionaires that couldn't give a toss about me. Privatisation is a failed concept, watch and see the NHS implode if the Tories succeed. Damaged family values? Like the childcare benefit? University was in theory a great idea, but they encouraged too many applicants. Selfish ay? You say this in same breath as you watch Tories targetting pensioners, students, all while charging money to see our local elected PM?

Madness

And socialism is a viable concept ? Please, you make me sick. Economics teacher at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, everyone would share equally a great equalizer. The professor then said,
"OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones
who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one wanted to study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also eventually fail over time because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great... but when government takes all the incentive and reward away, no one will to do more than the bare minimum to succeed. Of course you cannot achieve greatness by doing the minimum. Could not be any simpler than that.

Labour supporters are not bothered to put the work in to become a "Billionaire" that they constantly moan about. THEY EARNED THEIR MONEY. Not to mention about 56% of the NHS is paid for by the top 5% of earners in the UK.

You do know there are about 7 billion other people in the world that don't think the same way as you? They have their own opinions, values etc...

Pensioners having it easy? Retiring at 65, permanent problems with pains, joints, aches, headaches etc. Aren't they scroungers of a system they contributed towards for so many years?

1) So according to your logic, because we're all paying extortionate tax now, when we're pensioners we can claim LOTS of benefits. But then as we're claiming lots of benefits, the future younger generations will have to fund our benefits. As they are funding our benefits through tax, when they are older they will also be due generous benefits.......... so where does it end?

2) What a surprise? A Labour supporter with a quote from a traitor. Funny how one of Northern Ireland's anti-British parties take their whip from the Labour party isn't it? Who would have suggested Labour are anti-British eh?

Possibly the worst example I've ever heard. We are talking directly about the number of UK voters: ~50 Million. The world has nothing to do with it.

THIS X 100000.

People who chose to ignore the advice of doing well at school/working hard even though they are given free opportunities should be deported.

The economics teacher thing or the NHS stats ? If so both are 100% true.

To be honest, you did little to disprove my point there. You have simply broken down one generalisation into five smaller ones. I am confused about your point that there are 'more stereotypical labour voters than tory ones (because there aren't that many 'posh' people)'. My point was that people generalise that group of people who do vote Conservative into being wealthy/posh/uncaring/elitist etc. etc. Do you know exactly how many 'posh' people there are vs. 'non-posh' people there are and do you know exactly how each and every one of those people voted? What exactly gives you the right to judge a majority of people based on their poitical alliance? Just because you do not agree with it, it does not give you any 'divine right' to downgrade their opinions nor pigeon-hole them nor insult them to such a degree. You do not know every Labour voter personally. So you have little right to judge them.

No, they should just be made an example of and not given extravagant resources.

We need to set an example that failure is not an option. This does not mean everyone has to get a job, but if you haven't got a job you should at least have the qualifications ready for when the economy recovers!

We've got about 500,000 teenagers with two D grades in GCSE Sociology and Construction Studies and an E grade in A Level Film Studies..... !! It's not really going to help the economy much (or their employment).

All you're doing is playing the "you don't have every single fact" card. IF it was possible to collect every single piece of information, we both know what it would portray about your average Labour supporter.

Why do you think left-wing(ism) is so reliant on the concept of community, because it has to support the weak. This is not a natural concept and nature did not intend for the weak to keep on surviving. Its like stopping lions from eating zebras because it's not fair- what would happen to the food chain then?

Whether you like it or not, life is a fight for survival.
